Former Wolverine RB Walker in the move again
Kareem Walker in the portal, one more time.
October 27th, 2020 at 2:30 PM ^
on the move, in the portal..... either way he has a few stickers on his suitcase and is looking to add another.
October 27th, 2020 at 2:31 PM ^
He's a stowaway?
October 27th, 2020 at 2:36 PM ^
Guess the recruiting services got that one wrong.
October 27th, 2020 at 4:06 PM ^
Yep. Sometimes it doesn't translate to college.
October 27th, 2020 at 5:05 PM ^
Add that to the list with Shane Morris, Derek Green, Patrick Kugler, Drake Harris, Kyle Kalis, Ondre Pipkins, RJS, Terry Richardson, David Dawson, Michael Ferns, Lawrence Marshall, Brian Cole, Aubrey Solomon, Drew Singleton, Jordan Anthony, etc.
October 27th, 2020 at 7:18 PM ^
Thanks for compiling that list. There's something oddly fascinating about high star recruits that could never quite duplicate their success in college.
October 28th, 2020 at 4:23 AM ^
Not really. Seems his problems have been largely mental or academic. I thought he looked good when he actually played. Word was he struggled in school badly here.
October 27th, 2020 at 2:37 PM ^
Wait, isn't he like 37 now?
October 27th, 2020 at 2:41 PM ^
Do you need the portal to go back to community college?
October 27th, 2020 at 2:42 PM ^
After the 2016 spring game (when Walker was an early enrollee) I saw him and a lot of football players at one of the South U bars. Let's just say Kareem could throw down some shots for a 17 year old.
I also ran into him the Friday night before the 2016 Maryland game at the McDonalds on Stadium with Shelton Johnson.
October 27th, 2020 at 2:46 PM ^
Cool.
October 27th, 2020 at 2:47 PM ^
It's a shame for Walker. There are so many ways to waste an opportunity.
October 27th, 2020 at 3:02 PM ^
It's also a shame that we're going to imply that college dude who drinks beers lacks the steel and determination to succeed in life and football endeavors.
Well, you know who else drank beer as a freshman? Albert Fucking Einstein. It's true. Look it up. They call it "bier" in Canada, where he's from.
Best of luck to Kareem Walker. I hope no more stories of him eating or drinking (as an early enrollee) pop up and imply further dark and nefarious deeds.
ALSO - "In the move" sounds like "In the Mood" where my #millerheads at for some big band ha-ha's?
October 27th, 2020 at 3:12 PM ^
No kidding. I would have sworn Einstein was from Germany. You sure about that Canadian youth?
October 27th, 2020 at 3:21 PM ^
I may be cloudy on some of those details (too many biers as an early enrollee, I'm sure factor in).
October 27th, 2020 at 6:23 PM ^
Don't stop him Wolverine 73, he is on a roll.
October 27th, 2020 at 3:14 PM ^
All I know is that Kareem Walker is no A Train.

It's funny how you jumped to that conclusion from 1 poster saying he saw the kid put down some shots. Personally I never came to that conclusion.
October 27th, 2020 at 4:35 PM ^
What else does "Let's just say Kareem could throw down some shots for a 17 year old" do, other than imply something? You think he's implying that this is the greatest 17 year old drinker he's ever seen? That was some kind of compliment?
You're not new here. Let me paint an often seen picture. Story A about washed out athlete. Followed shortly there after with anecdotal comment about how someone knew this was going to happen because of vaguely related story that has limited, if any, value.
Am I mad? Not likely. Is it cool to make some sort of implication based on one of the two times you saw another human being at a distance? No.
October 27th, 2020 at 5:22 PM ^
He said he saw the kid drinking shots. That's it. He didn't say, he was drinking shots instead of practicing or studying. He didn't say if the kid wasn't a drunk he would still be at UM. He also said he saw him at a McDonald's. Does that mean he had diabetes? He simply said the kid could put down some shots. You made the jump.
October 27th, 2020 at 5:45 PM ^
He said: "Let's just say Kareem could throw down some shots for a 17 year old".
Hey, if you want to assume that this useless anecdote means absolutely nothing. Go for it. I don't have a problem with you being either stupid or intentionally naive. Here's your high five. ?
October 27th, 2020 at 6:47 PM ^
Yeah, you're mad.
October 27th, 2020 at 2:45 PM ^
Good luck, Kareem.
I had high hopes for him and, as far as I know, he seemed to be a fairly high character guy. Just maybe not ready for college. Hope he finds a place where he can contribute.
October 27th, 2020 at 2:46 PM ^
He should drop football and become a baker
Imagine a pie shop called "Kareem Pies"
October 27th, 2020 at 3:15 PM ^
....or an adult film producing company.
October 27th, 2020 at 9:09 PM ^
Lol that was the joke
October 27th, 2020 at 2:54 PM ^
Unfortunate situation, hopefully he finally finds a permanent home for a few seasons
October 27th, 2020 at 2:57 PM ^
Kareem is still out of control.
October 27th, 2020 at 4:24 PM ^
Not everybody can be Ricky Williams. Kareem seems like a nice kid. I hope he lands on his feet.
October 27th, 2020 at 5:06 PM ^
I mean, his last name is Walker, has to be in his DNA to keep moving right? That's how names and genetics work right?
October 27th, 2020 at 6:39 PM ^
I hope Kareem finds a landing place for one good year of college football.
Re: Throwing down some shots... I went to Michigan in the late 1970s (drinking age was 18 then) and many a star player, All-B1G and All-American, some later All-Pro, could throw down shots and more. All without leaving West Quad.
October 27th, 2020 at 7:44 PM ^
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was either Moeller or Lloyd who recruited him.
October 27th, 2020 at 11:07 PM ^
It was also reported today that their RB Kylin Hill decided to opt out the rest of the season to prepare for the draft. You'd have thought some snaps were on the table for Kareem

How does he still have eligibility? This would be his fifth year in college so unless he’s getting a sixth year medical redshirt year of eligibility or I’m misremembering something, I figured 2020 was his last year of eligibility no matter what happened. Maybe he’ll be on the next season of Last Chance U.
Either way, I can’t blame him for leaving. He’s a RB, and playing as a RB in a Mike Leach air raid system is a one way pass to irrelevance.
