Stickers = thoughts and prayers. Stop the  virtue signaling and start helping and improving your local communities no matter where you live.

Hmm, sounds like complaining about virtue signaling by performing vague virtue signaling. Since it appears that you’re implying that you’re doing more than stickers, I would like to know the list of things that you’ve done, personally, to help out the community this year.  .

Honestly think it’s a good compromise between the BLM/Antifa crowd and the America loving crowd. Good job Blue!

Antifa = anti-fascism.  Last thing I seem to recall, fighting fascism is a good thing.

Seems like, too, that people who fight fascism quite likely love American ideals too, no?

”... with liberty and justice for all”, right?

I’ll admit, I’ve marched in PDX many times, been tear gassed this last go-round, spent many nights on the Diag, sleeping in shanties protesting M’s investment in So Africa, die-ins at Briarwood and in the Law Quad during the first Persian Gulf War (Crimes).  (M granted me both a BA and JD).  I met Rosa Parks when we brought her to Bursley, circa 1985-86ish and was in awe and inspired by her inner power and serenity.

I’ve sued the city, county, state and federal govt for civil rights violations, and helped expose all types of police misconduct.

But under all the graffiti on the PDX federal courthouse (the center of the protests) there is carved a perfectly placed Jefferson (reductionist slaveholder) quote: “the boisterous sea of liberty is never w/o a wave.”

I’m anti-fascist and I love my country too.  And I love M and all for which she stands.

For some reason, people seem to think that in order for you to love your country you have to accept and support everything that your country does. Good or bad.

But really, loving your country would mean you want your country to be the best that it can be. And that inherently means standing up against injustice and speaking out when the wrong thing is being done. Holding those in charge responsible.

Personally I compare it to parenting. Do you only love your child if you support everything they do and see no wrong in their actions? Or is your love shown by holding them accountable and raising them to be the best person they can be?
