Following MBB game on twitter in Italy
Not sure how good the competition is in Italy but the first game is a blowout. This is the only way I could find to follow the games.

The starting lineup was LeVert, Walton, Irvin, Donnal and Chatman.
They are just killing this team. 94-47 was the last score update.

I wasn't expecting the competition on this trip to be stellar, and this first game seems to be bearing that out.
Someone on Twitter posted a couple of pregame photos. Perugia Select Team:

Interesting seeing them wear game uniforms.
IIRC, they usually wore their practice jerseys for these trips.

I think it would be kinda cool if they designed one to look like a Euro team's jersey. Maybe even throw a sponsor on there.
BRANDON'D
/Was serious about the first part

Give me more time and I could come up with something better but this is what I've got in 15 minutes of work.

Michigan wins! 99-60.
They will leave Rome and travel to Vicenza for two games.

Dammit. 100 would have gotten us a free taco. Somewhere. I assume.

Hopefully, we get to see him do that a few times over on this side of the pond as well. Definitely, it will be a great moment when he first steps onto the court at Crisler just when he comes out with the team, never mind the moment he gets into a game. To think of where Hatch was and what had happened not all that long ago, to see him playing in games and leading cheers for the Wolverines is awesome indeed.

They really took their feet off the gas.

Yes, from following on Twitter it seemed like a typical preseason exhibition game with lots of players getting minutes off the bench. Abdur-Rahkman must have played quite a bit as he ended with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

The next game is against the Vicenza All-Stars, which was beaten by Notre Dame 95-57, so I have my doubts about the "increasingly more difficult" part.

Boxscore (PDF) has been posted. Irvin was 5-for-5 from deep range and 10-for-13 overall. The team shot 62.7% overall and 52.4% on 3-pointers.

then they will be good regardless of the level of competition.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Beilein's system + Eurorules should = hilarious efficiency numbers.
You know, more than it already does.

He breaks down the competition in Italy here
http://www.umhoops.com/2014/08/16/closer-look-michigan-will-play-italy/
And talks about how the Basket Academy All Stars game went here
http://www.umhoops.com/2014/08/17/michigan-beats-perugia-select-stars-tip-italian-tour/
Of particular interest to me:
Mark Donnal pulled down 3 offensive boards. Ricky Doyle had no rebounds whatsoever.
Doyle however took 7 shots and hit on 87% of them. I'll try to get a boxscore with the BAAS stats too.
The bigs are the unknown to me(as is the competition) but that game on the 22'nd against the Mantova Stings should give us some idea of where Michigan stands in the post(Well, without big Max anyway). They've got proven bigs. It should be a good game.

Man, I can't feel any better about a coach than I do about Coach B. He recruits high character guys and is one of the few basketball coaches at a big time school to be a man of his word and not a complete egomaniac. Would Austin Hatch be able to experience this at any other top tier program?

never have bad outings.
