D Jones did some good things tonight and had a very smart pass down low to Dickinson instead of taking the open shot. That said, I didn’t get the “QB of the backcourt” kinda feel we had with Smith. Maybe it’ll take a few games to gel but I think we’ll have to lean on Brooks to facilitate for a while.

Agreed, I loved smiths game in the offense. All the freshman had great moments but pressure in the second half made them look like freshman. Gotta remember Buffalo is a good team, but hard to not feel like it should have been 20+ after the first half. Get some good and bad moments on film. All that matters game 1 is the W

Hot take: Collins will take over the PG position by the end of the season. If not as the starter than the de-facto starter by playing more minutes.
The experience of Jones makes him the better player now, but I see more upside in Collins. It's good that we have Jones around as Collins learns the offense/defense (and for depth), but I'd be surprised if he has the type of impact Smith had.

I thought Jones looked great and really moved the ball. I also live the ball pressure. A few of his drives looked really good and he got unlucky.
I didn't see Collins do a damn thing in his first half minutes. What exactly impressed you?

I thought he was often in good position defensively, was active while out there and seemed to get a few good rebounds. I cannot remember if he scored but he was out there only like5-6 minutes. Not a huge sample size but as a frosh he didn't look like he was in trouble ever.

There were a lot of good things tonight but one thing that was not was our defense. I expect Howard to clean that up just like he did last year. I believe our offense will definitely be better than last year. Go Blue!

Drinking some Weldwerks brews and despite a rocky 2nd half obviously really high on this team for this year. Fouls and FTs need to be cleaned up, but the team will gel more and more as the season goes on and I'm confident Juwan will have this team working like a machine in no time. Go Blue!

3 Floyd’s space station middle finger has been cracked.
Just got back from the game. Nice win, they noticeably tinkered with lots of lineup combinations throughout the game. Houston looks like the real deal, needs to be a little more assertive but I’ll chalk it up for first game jitters. Crisler is gonna rock the Moooooooossse cheers this year!
Anyone know what’s up with Zeb Jackson and when he’s expected to return. Hopefully he’s close to returning to get some game reps before B1G play.

I did not say complimentary things about TWill very often last year. He was quite impressive tonight. I hope he keeps that up and congrats to him on apparently transforming his game in the offseason.
