Evening Games Open Thread

Submitted by Bando Calrissian on

I'm not going to lie, I started this thread merely because I want to talk about the hilarity of the fact that we're about to watch Rutgers play their first B1G game.

Biggest night for Rutgers football since they won their last National Championship... In 1869?

Because you don't always need the sexy ranked vs. ranked matchups for great games.

On paper it looks awful, but you never know...and nights like this always produce some great games.

Florida goes from delay of game to touchdown...

obviously note that UF wouldn't have lost the game with a delay, may have actually been better because of the space and the time to get organized.

Nova really is like the white (is he really white though?) Gardner.

I thought only Gardner would do something like take a sack late in a game on a game winning drive down 3.

Remember @Northwestern last year?

I was just joking as it was mentioned earlier...and Devin DOES do random shit like the INT @ ND or the sack he took @ Northwestern before we got the game winning FG.

Or a random jump pass INT like Nova just threw, lol.

But no, Gardner is actually a lot better than he gets credit for...when he has time. If he doesn't have time, he's a below average QB. Obviously most QBs aren't as good when they don't have time, but I don't think I've seen anyone that has such a wide range of skill or whatever you want to call it when it comes to pressure vs. no pressure.

Devin would be a great to borderline elite QB if he had time for most of his snaps. However, he's pretty bad to below average when he doesn't get time...and over the course of a game that averages out to...well, average.

Rutgers QB scrambles past line of scrimmage then avoids going out of bounds and chucks ball. Penalty.   Seriously?
