Crazy that there's still 7:46 left in the first quarter in the Texas/OU game... feels like there's been enough action, big plays and reviews that it feels like it's the middle of the 2nd quarter already!

End of 1st quarter

Maryland, 6-10 passing for 71 yards; rushing 40 yards on 11 carries.

OSU, 2-7 passing for 14 yards; rushing 14 yards on 9 carries, though that includes 2 sacks and whatever you call that run on the punt formation that went nowhere.  Traynum does have 25 yards on 5 carries.

This first quarter, observing the Ohio State offensive and defensive lines leads me to believe that Ryan Day does not have a good read on the quality level required of good assistance coaches.  I'm increasingly coming to believe this is what separates Harbaugh from Day.  Harbaugh knows what he needs to see from his assistant coaches, whereas Day looks lost in the woods while his lines flounder, talent notwithstanding.

Very encouraging 1Q by OSU!
UMa has open TEs, ability to run dive and counter for 4-7 yds, and WRs getting 1:1 downfield. All if that with a QB who lacks JJ’s mobility. Plus, very little threat from OSU passing game against UMa defense. McCord is no Stroud and their OL has regressed.

Why the FUCK is Maryland snapping with 17seconds on the play clock!! Jesus H has Gattis not learned anything from Harbaugh? The clock is ALWAYS either your friend or enemy. It is NEVER neutral. Every single second you take from OSU robs them of opportunity. They only SURVIVE by opportunity. They need the higher # of opportunities to hit their home runs. Use your HEAD!! Every second counts, even in the 1st quarter. If Maryland loses on a last drive by OSU I’ll laugh at fools who attach their offense to tempo.

World famous..?  I hope this notes the shift to elite UoM B1G leadership.  I'd love nothing more than a few NCs for us over the next few years.  Wait, maybe I'd also equally love a perpetually rebuilding osu for the next decade or so.

I don’t know if I should be impressed with Maryland or laughing at OSU. Their line doesn’t look great and McCord does not look good at all. Maryland needs TDs though. OSU will wake up eventually.
