DRob II on Big Stage Again

He's playing another strong game, and the Heat are leading going into the 4th qtr.  James - Butler battle is one for the ages.

20 pts on 5-10 from 3. Not too shabby for a kiddo who thought he'd be in sports podcasting after college.

Edit: Make that 6-10 from 3. 23 pts!!!

If KCP or Green are not guarding Duncan, he's going to get an open look, and he's been making them pay today. For some reason, Vogel (or LeBron) have been letting a weaker defender guard Duncan more often today.

Van Gundy has been basically worshipping Duncan all game - a fun broadcast to listen to as a Michigan fan. And the haters around here who claimed Duncan disappears on the big stage: shame on you. Keep it up D3!

Best play was Duncan taking a charge by Lebron, that was contested by the Lakers.  Duncan's defense bested Lebron's offense.

Great game so far, LBJ and Jimmy Butler are insane

Super cool Duncan is playing a big part of it - 4 point play and some defensive plays against Lebron, a memorable night for him I'm sure

Duncan with 26 points and 5 rebounds on 7-13 3pt shooting. Also - had incredible Effort on D. Led his team in +/- again!  (+7). The Lakers nearly stole the game in the mid 4th quarter when they took Duncan out. They had to put him back in - and he was huge.

D-Rob making the big decision to help on Lebron and leave Danny Green and it paid off.

Also, Jimmy Butler is the toughest player in the NBA. Not even close. Dude is a dog

Heat win, heck yeah! The Lakers are not the same team with a gimpy Davis. If Dragic can manage to come back, I'm liking the Heat's chances the next 2 games.

Fuck.  Credit to Miami, they battled the Lakers hard tonight.  Still don’t think Miami can win two more against this Lakers team, but AD got pretty banged up tonight.  In addition to Butler’s insane game, Duncan’s offense and defense were definitely key to Miami‘a win tonight.

That was fun. Was keeping up with the score, and switched over late and got to see Duncan get the charge and bang a 3 down. Hope he’s got two more great games to go.

Michigan athletics, and basketball specifically, has some of the best stories in collegiate history

89 title with Glen Rice and Fisher, Fab Five, plane crash championship, Trey Burke, Austin Hatch, and now Duncan can be added to that list

Every item in your list is special in its own way, but are you really putting "interim coach takes control just before the tourney and leads his team to an NCAA championship" with "coach honors scholarship of player who is tragically injured?"

Even thirty years later many 50+ sports fans outside Michigan will recognize Steve Fisher. Austin Hatch? There are probably more than a few posters on this blog (younger ones, surely) unfamiliar with his name.

Wow.

Getting a pro contract. Sticking with a team. Turning into a valuable contributor to their season. Playing a major role in their run to the Finals. Playing a key role in the Finals, against an NBA great.

Wow.

Huge performance was the difference between them winning and losing, Butler always has a strong game, Robinson needs to keep being the solid #2 to win

I am late to the party.  I didn't see that the Lakers won it all on the news so I was curious and looked  it up.  So . . .

Duncan Robinson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It was fun reading the posts above.  All is well.
