do not get how writers for the Freep get national Recognition. They are booed when they come to sporting events. All they do is trash our sports teams. I mean the guy's freaking nickname is Boodenie!!! he walks into the Palace and Instantly is BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOED. Guy is a joke

Negative attention gets them paid "BOOOOO" = $$$ It's like this ... if you are upset about Sharp or whatever, that means you read his article. Boom, money'd. They don't care if you like it. They just care if you pick up the paper and are exposed to the advertisements. That's all that matters.

Much like Cowherd, Rome is just there to rile us up. Drew Sharp is a fitting replacement in that group of asshats. Don't listen and don't call. Any discerning and logical sports fans I know don't listen to his show.

I find Rome entertaining and he's approaching things from a national/west coast perspective, so you have to take things he says about specific issues with a grain of salt, especially since Drew Sharp is providing him with all the tabloid news one could ever want.

Although I like the idea - with Sharp, you won't be able to get your point across. In the end, he will make your comments come across as "typical Michigan arrogance". Best thing, as mentioned, is to not listen, not call and not help Sharp get ratings.

write an email to Jim Rome's show with the following: "Mr Rome- typically I find your show to be entertaining and enjoy listening to it. However, your continued choice of Mr Sharp as a guest host and guest on your program is a detriment to your program. Be aware, that as long as Mr Sharp is a participant in your programs I will not be listening or watching. Mr Sharp is a journalistic hack, using untrue claims about actions by a 16 yr old to make false claims on the young man's integrity, continuing to use uncited sources to make near libelous claims, and refusing to follow standard ethical conduct for journalists. His appearances on your shows bring down the quality of your program and will reduce your ratings, at least by one, this writer."

boycotting and emailing is a better strategy. All we will accomplish by calling when Sharp hosts the show is to help his numbers and make him look more desirable. I hate to quote a professional wrestling personality, but one book title/adage is almost the entertainment industry's mantra: Controversy Creates Cash. If we call and argue with Sharp, he is seen as "controversial;" if we don't call or watch, he is seen as the failure he is.

So the rat goes through the maze and THEN into his hand? Does it bite the hand? (that presumably feeds it) Is there a bird already in the hand? Who put this rat in the maze in the first place, what's it motivation? I'm lost in metaphor hell.

Guess I should have been more specific. My understanding of these types of sadistic behavioral experiments goes something like this: The maze has bait at one end (reality: revenue) and the maze is full of electrocution pads (reality: Drew Sharp articles) to steer the otherwise confused mice to take the bait.

If you really want to get to Sharp, just have someone call in and call him a "Judas" on air, selling out throwing his alma mater under the bus in favor of increased newspaper sales. Deep down he knows he is a sell-out.

I would almost want someone like Brian who can debate this really well to call in. Anyone who can is probably also smart enough not to. You gotta have neutral turf at least... or maybe the guy's to stubborn to have a meaningful debate at all? Continue to do your best to ignore him, get your friends to unsubscribe, etc is still the best thing to do. It's like Jack Thompson and penny arcade, just saying his name empowers him.
