Don't feel bad B10, Charlie don't like him some Pac-10 refs either

Submitted by iawolve on
I realize it is overstated, but the man is such an incredible douche bag. First the B10 officials were jobbing him, now the Pac-10 officials, who ruled in his favor mind you during the USC game, are on his bad list. They had the audacity to now state after further review that his "trick" play on the fake field goal should have been penalized during the game. Fat Charlie is going to punish Pac-10 officials by never telling them about any of his trick plays before any game, I assume they will not get christmas cards or copies of his book to use for kindling. You know, he's not saying the refs could cost him a game, he won't make excuses or comment on it, but oh by the way he will tell you about how the refs will cost him a game. Never a more repulsive human being. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/aroundthebend/2009/10/not…

Charlie Weis: "Not that we ever have a vanilla game plan..." - I bet there is a lot of vanilla in Charlie's game plan. And a lot of chocolate. Some Rocky Road. CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH! Mmmmm.... Fat ass. Open faced club...sand wedge...mmmm. (points for reference).

Hahaha So your complaining about Weis not complaining, but then rip on him for complaining? His only "comment" on the Pac10's ruling was "I have no comment" if that is what gets you fired up like this at 9:30 in the morning you might want to switch to decaf. :)

He's saying that if you're going to say you have no comment then you should, in fact, have no comment but to then go on and say this: "I'm not going to tell the Pac-10 officials, ever, that we have a special play," Weis said. "I won't tell them the next time either. They're going to have to call it as it happens. And that might not be the only conference-affiliated officiating crew I don’t tell that there's something special we're doing, if you get my drift." That's a comment and he's done it time and again. The whole, I'm not going to complain or comment and then goes out of his way to complain and comment. New book title "I'm not saying, I'm just saying..."

How can you not read that as whiny and bitchy? If RR had said the same thing I'd shake my head the same way I do when I run into people who pull the "I'm not saying I'm just saying" stuff. If he really had no comment about it he wouldn't have phrased it in such a way as to imply the Pac-10 refs are worse than every other conference (I'm not even sure it's implied, he pretty much says it straight up). An acceptable response, if he wanted to stick with the "I'm not going to comment" line, would have been "I didn't tell them about the play before the game." Maybe that's too rigid and too Lloyd but if you say you aren't going to comment then don't throw in bitchy insults when asked a follow up question.

"But what I usually do is I usually say, we've got a bunch of wrinkles in here, so be on guard. Not that we ever have a vanilla game plan, but if I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary, I'll just say we don't have anything out of the ordinary."
No I don't hear anything bitchy or whiny from his quote, or any insults either.

I was so frustrated watching that trick field goal. I was looking at the screen saying "they can't do that!". Wasn't the rule changed after Georgia Tech did it this year? If I know that, then the refs should know that. Honestly, between that play and the phantom two point conversion against Washington, I think ND should be thanking every Pac-10 ref that has worked their games.

Maybe instead of complaining about all of the refs which are used to officiate their games, they should just join a conference so they can have one set to worry about. To my knowledge, there are not any independent referees. They are all affiliated with a certain conference and until you are in a conference, that is what you are stuck with. He won't have to complain long as the next refs he will complaining about are in the NFL as a position coach.

If we're talking about how Pac10 refs seemingly give ND points and plays at least it is balanced by the Big10 doing the exact opposite right? I thought it would be a little consoling to point that out. :) Actually I think it is all really funny, in no way will any after-the-fact ruling change the outcome of the game. SC won the game, so what now? they won the game more?

The Irish fans I know actually had the stones to complain about the officiating in the Washington game. You may remember it as the game where the refs overturned a (seemingly) legit Washington touchdown, made several 'questionable' penalty calls against Washington, and allowed a 2-point conversion in which Armando Allen sat down on the 1 yard line, took a brief nap, then barrel-rolled into the end zone. God I miss Ann Arbor.

Charlie needs to say seven Hail Marys for cheating just to try to win a game (and he didn't even win it). Yes, it is still cheating even if you don't get caught. There is a difference between "trick plays" and cheating. Trick plays are legal and would not be penalized. What does it say about your program when you have to degrade yourself by cheating? And, at nd??
