I've been right there with you all season for Michigan being special this year.  But I just can't wrap my mind around this old school reverence of Ohio hs football you have.

Maybe it's because I grew up here but lived most of my adult life in Texas - but tbh Texas / Cali / Florida hs football is much further ahead than Ohio compared to Ohio vs Michigan... Imo - and Cali or Texas players didn't grow up *in* Ohio, hating Michigan, etc, making it harder to recruit them.

Just don't think that Ohio should be our focus.  I get your point that they might have a chip on their shoulder if OSU didn't recruit them but tbh I'd rather model Alabama than MSU.

Cheers.

Sounds like he doesn't want to come and dosh me doesn't want to disappoint his best friend.

This feels like a take it to signing day to avoid the backlash, and then make a "business decision" to go to Bama.

See how quickly BPONE returns?!

(It actually does sound/feel like that, which sucks because we're hot right now. If he'd make a decision even a week prior to signing day...and ends up choosing Bama, we could absolutely find another quality DB/late add in a week, especially with this coaching carousel)

I thought that, too...but we don't know the question.  And Sam has a habit of pulling shock quotes from something bigger and getting clicks out of it.

What if he was simply asked, "did you think they'd win?" And what if he added a bunch of excitement and "They dominated!" after he answered honestly?

I try to remember, it's a tweet not a transcript.

I don’t know if he is downplaying the win but it makes me wonder why he got on a plane to fly this far to stand in the cold for 3 hours if he thought he might be doing it for nothing.
It’s like when Joey Bosa was on his official visits. After leaving Ohio St, he tweeted that he had to go to that school up north next. He said it as if he was being forced to visit here. I was on Buckeye Planet that day. I asked why he was even bothering to come here if he felt that way. I’m pretty sure I got banned for even asking the question.

Actually this. It shows that the game had an impact on the kid and I am surmising this to mean we were behind when he visited. This game pulled us even and now the kid is confused. Keep winning and Bama lose, we are more than likely going to get him. There is a good chance we will know if we keep winning (and Bama lose). That is my hawt take.

It's between Bama and Michigan.

Not to say USC can't come back, but his favorite coach, the guy who was keeping USC warm...didn't get the head job and Riley didn't make him DC either.

Maybe he got offered a CB position coach spot, but with Washington, Fresno and other west coast schools having movement...he could easily land somewhere else.

USC can pull their DB recruits from Oklahoma and replace him anyway, I believe they've got one from Cali.

IMO this is about his heart - Michigan vs. his head - Bama.

Bama showed him the money he could make, the draft picks, the development, the NFL, etc. - we can't compete with their DBs over the past 6 years...and the guys who could claim our best DBs (Brown, Zordich, Partridge), they're all gone.

I think Harbaugh has to show him the new Michigan and hope he trusts it. But when Nick pulls out the rings, the photos, the actual data...that's hard to turn down.

reading these takes of from just a sentence, rather than reading more about it really illustrates why people should not speak of things they don’t know about.

Ohio State had won 15/16 any logical person would think Ohio State was going to win. So what. That means he doesn’t like Michigan? He’s traveled here repeatedly on his own money. His dad loves Michigan so he’s always rooted for them. So he knows more than most. He needed to see Michigan compete to consider Michigan. Because he wants to play for titles. If he doesn’t choose Michigan that’s his choice. But to suggest he’s putting off a decision just to avoid telling his friend shows a complete lack of information on the situation. He has already chosen another team before. When he committed to USC, he told his friend then. But he’s scared now? It makes no sense.

don’t talk bad about kids when you don’t know what the hell you are talking about.

Well there also are those predictions which had him flipping to Alabama innediatly following his visit there.  Not seeing the same movement.  So perhaps the “experts” also have a complete lack of understanding of the situation as well.  I’ll speak my opinion when I please, and can do without your shoehorned accusations big guy.  Don’t be a keyboard gangsta.

I’m telling you not to insult s kid and you think that’s being a keyboard gangsta? And you argue it? That’s pathetic. I’m not acting tough at all. I’m just saying it’s obvious you are being a crap person. But you do you. Talk about what you don’t know about. Insult kids because they don’t do exactly what suits you. Just know, every person thinks that’s pathetic

Uh what exactly was the insult again?

It’s obvious you’re a fragile person looking to create an issue where there isn’t one and calling me a crap person.

I made an observation based on what is being discussed.  Do I have insider knowledge no I don’t. You disagree with the observation.  Cool.  But to say I’m insulting the kid is weird.  But you know rush to the defense of Somone when there isn’t anything to defend against.  Crap person?  Get a life.

Agree - I'm missing the "mean" part of what anyone said. I said simply that if his reaction - which was the POINT OF THIS POST was lukewarm, I hardly see things improving from this point forward. I may be wrong - I hope I'm wrong. Its the internet. Wrong is its middle name.

The other folks didn't say anything accusatory. Just simply pointing out that the kid said he had 2 schools - then one looked like dogshit.. and he filled in with another that has had unprecedented success in every way.

If he went to the game and said "i didnt think theyd do it..." it would seem that if he wants to go to a winning program, then in fact, he doesnt really see MIchigan as that. Maybe Saturday changed it - and maybe/hopefully this Saturday adds to it.

I do think that winning through this weekend and the 1st round of the playoff would really cement us where we believe we belong.

Other than that, wtf are you talking about?

The kid can do what he likes - he's not a diva - he's making an important life choice. All things being equal - these 3 options are about as good as it gets from lifestyle (USC), to winning (Bama) to school + football (Michigan).

USC might be in it for him as well now with the Riley hire.

Hoping this class closes strong, but the recruiting implications of smashing OSU and potentially winning the B1G and going to the playoff will most likely be felt in the following cycle.

Seems like a longshot but do have the chance to raid the ND recruits at all? Sounds like BK left and didn't tell anybody and hasn't really paid much mind to the recruits or his coaches.

Probably already decided on Bama but like everyone else has said didn't want to disappoint anyone. As great as the game was on Saturday I bet the weather impacted him as well. I mean the kid is from LA. That is just a random thought I had though.

Those are two one line answers in a tweet so not worth getting that into it, but if those are the big quotes he isn’t coming. Those are very tepid quotes that say basically nothing positive about the program, and coupled with National sources implying it’s been between bama and usc for the last couple of months it just feels like the only reason we are in this recruitment is because his dad loves Michigan, not because domani does. And that’s fine, not going to get everyone. Flip saab, get berry, get conerly, and maybe flip walker and burnham from nd
