Devin Bush Jr. Looking good for Michigan.

Submitted by MichiganMan14 on
iraschoffel All-world Seminole Insider New Michael is down in South Florida covering Devin Bush Jr.'s announcement, and he just talked to a couple people close to the situation. And they told him they expect Devin to announce for Michigan today, and not Florida State. This could obviously change but I doubt it being the morning of. As a former FSU football alum I can tell you he is a HUGE want for the Noles and this is a B1G Deal if Harbaugh pulls this off. Devin is the type of player and athlete that can change things in Ann Arbor and he fits well into Michigan's least athletic position. We will find out for sure in a few hours. Shaping up to be a great day for Michigan!

FSU looks to be conceding on this one. Absolutely monster get for Michigan. This kid can play the game and this will lead to more wins in S. Florida.

I know this is supposed to make me feel better but honestly it makes me more nervous. Too many soul dong punches in the last decade have me perpetually prepared for the worst.

If there werent aleady 9 posts on the general subect, it is worth noting that Brewster - whose dad is a coach at FSU - flipped Bush to UM this morn as well.  He was steadfast for FSU unti 8:49ish AM this morn.  And Newberg is basically FSU's Steve Lorenz.

The spike in traffic is sure to result in another 503 Bad Gateway episode. I hope Brain finally invested in the capybaras for the MGoServers; otherwise it will be a long, strenuous, and possibly lethal afternoon for those poor hamsters.

“It was very hard,” Bush Jr. said. “There is a lot of stuff going on in recruiting, trying to win state, trying to play in the playoffs, focus with recruiting on the side. Getting late night phone calls from coaches. It was hard.

There are times when I wonder what that's like for a kid like Bush, to have essentially your entire day eaten up by these sorts of things, from the sports you're playing at that moment to the calls at all hours from coaches who may not even have a realistic shot at actually recruiting you to their school. It's not any shock that some recruits have come out saying they'll shut down the process for extended periods just to get some sanity back.

On the plus side, coaches will typically stop contacting kids via phone calls and such if you ask them to stop. For example, Bush might have an offer from Louisiana Tech, but the coaches won't be doing anything more than sending him an occasional brochure (if that) if he asks them to stop.

Now, it's tough for a high schooler to ask college coaches to stop calling, but if you can work up the gumption to do it, that can be a major step toward regaining some sanity.

Grandfather worked for UofM for 40 years and Uncle and Aunt have worked for around 20 with the athletic dept and UofM hospital. Raised in the Big House. Graduated high school from Florida and used state academic Scholly post Marine Corps to attend FSU and walk on and play for Bobby.

Magnus - do you know if 247 composite only takes the top 20 guys for their grades like other services for team grades?  Not 247 itself but the composite?  Difficult to find info on website in that regard.

aside from his being a great X's and O's coach and QB guru, is his full and total grasp of an all out assault-based strategic plan to make UM football great.  You can see it in this latest recruiting of Bush/Walker, in the coaches and admin people he's hired, the types of players he goes after, the areas of the country he focuses on, his early focus on Twitter and other generational stuff, nation-wide satellite camp SWARM tour, coaching clinics at UM, challenges to players to stay vs. go to NL, etc. etc.  He doesn't hold anything back and I can only bet other coaches are going crazy trying to keep up!  Fun to watch and glad he's on our side!

Wait, so you are a former FSU football player but a Michigan Man? Can't blame you but seems surprising you would pledge allegiance to UM over the school you played for.

Not getting my hopes up until he says he's committed to Michigan, but man oh man he'd fill a HUGE need on this team. He's the athletic sideline to sideline linebacker that we're sorely lacking right now.
