Submitted by Paps on

Two great seniors with two fantastic Michigan careers who gave everything they had tonight, and always.

A tough way for two special seniors to go out.  Walton ends with 498 assists, I believe, and within spitting distance of 1,500 points to go with his 500+ rebounds.  Great career for him.

Thanks guys for rolling with the punches. Tremendous and awesome job these past four years. You've helped shape the program. Much respect. Edit: to all seniors a big thanks.

That made three tournaments, made two Sweet Sixteens, won a Big Ten regular season title, and won a Big Ten tournament. And they gave us this very fun end to this season. They will be missed.

Goodbye, O Captain.

Walton was the captain of this ship. Without him, it would've sunk back in January.

Irvin has had a rocky career that I'm sure he did not plan on. But he played his best basketball for last. While being very high up on some all-time lists, injury derailed him pretty early. He stepped up and led the team as a sophomore when Caris and Walton were injured and did a pretty decent job.

Stat post on them will be coming tomorrow. They own a LOT of Michigan records.

Walton is just about in every relevant club a guard can be in. He even has one of Michigan's handful of triple doubles.

Mark Donnal, Andrew Dakich and Sean Lonergan put their butts out there these last 4 years, a lot of it during practices as scout team and even played when depth became an issue due to injuries. A great thank you is order to them for their hard work.

The senior class will leave with two B1G rings and two of three Sweet Sixteens that Michigan has reached in their lifetime.

I'll never forget this team and will tell my grandkids about their story. What a rollercoaster season, and the greatest victory isn't a B1G trophy or a Sweet 16 appearance. It's that they're alive.

Great finish to their careers.. Walton had the shot we wanted and the legs just weren't there. Irvin looked like his old self, burying 3s and mid range jumpers to keep us in it. Great kids and leaders on and off the court. And hats off to Donnal too. Had some good moments during this magical run and impressed with his level headedness during the plane crash. hope he has a good final year wherever he chooses to play.

They have us a very memorable run.

Zak might be the most maligned player at Michigan since John Navarre, yet he overhauled his game mid-season and was vital to a successful run.

Thanks Zak and Derek. You did the University and alumni proud. Go Blue.

on this run and throughout this game.  Not our best game, and Oregon played really hard defense.  Surprised with their effort on D that they still had fouls to give at end.  Part of that of taking quick shots.  Great season, great run.  Zak kept us in the game in the second half.  Really admire the way he pulled it together at the end of the season.  DW had a legendary second half of season.  No problem with him taking last shot to win.  Team showed big heart and was a joy to watch.  Thank you DW and Zak for great seasons and great careers at Michigan.

14-9 things looked bad.Walton raised his game to another level. Zak willingly took on a lesser role offensively, fought through a shooting slump and played his best ball down the stretch..The TEAM stayed together because of those two.The true measure of a person is how you react to adversity, those 2 showed me something.Going to miss them.

Much thanks to Walton and Irvin. It was a great 2 weeks to end the season. A Big Ten Tournament championship and a Sweet 16 is a huge success. Really going to miss Walton.

I may have ever seen in college and definitely the best 6 foot nothing rebounding PG I've ever seen.

We will miss so many things he brought to this team, but we'll miss the heck out of his work on the defensive glass.

And it sure turned out to be a good thing that Zak has a shooter's lack of conscience. He was so insanely money down the stretch. Just big shot after big shot.

for these two (and the whole senior class).  Takes some guts, as I am sure you who have degrees from Michigan or elsewhere to 'Finish'!  I pray blessings on these young men as they go out in the world to represent all that is good in them and around them!  As for the play of DW Jr and ZE I believe they both have the confidence to play at the next level!  I hope they both have good to great professional careers.

Go Blue!
