Title explains it all. Awesome to see him hit that.

Too bad it's not a game winner or anything, still awesome though; I mean first he gets on National TV on the X factor, now he's making half court shots look easy. What's next on the list?

Love how Kobe's the first to congratulate. Announcer says he can't hit from 5 but pretty good from 50. Nice video thx

How is he doing otherwise? Guy says he can't shoot from 15. Has he not performed up to expectations?

that's what i was thinking he had a hard enough time shooting 3's and mid range jumpers. Ill have to do some stat tracking
edit: here is his stats page

The lakers bench pretty much sucks.. the other night morris was the only one who made a shot on 1-3 shooting..
he averages 3.5 pts a game

January 15th, 2012 at 2:34 AM ^

24 minutes, with 2-3 shooting, 1 three pointer, 4 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers and 1 foul. He was -6 so he was obvious overmatched by CP3. by he is looking like a much more polished player after the first 2 games. Pretty good stat-line for him, but he still needs a lot of work in the offense. Being so young and playing the point with a HOF like Kobe has got to be difficult and intimidating. His size will get him far though.

Damn, I haven't seen a picture of him since he left Michigan. He's got a head of hair now.

4. Darius Morris acquitted himself well.

This was his third game as a pro, and the rook from Michigan stepped onto the floor against Paul and looked like he belonged. Sure, Paul had his way more often than not and I'm sure when the staff breaks down the tape they'll find many a teachable moment, but what exactly would you expect? He's Chris Freaking Paul. But while CP3 got his numbers, Morris never looked discouraged, never gave up on plays, and most importantly, didn't press offensively, taking trips away from the Lakers by overdribbling or forcing bad shots.

In the open floor, Morris gives the Lakers an element they don't otherwise have, namely an athlete at home running the break, comfortable distributing on the fly.

He's a rookie, and will play like one more often than not, but there are a lot of reasons to be encouraged, as much because of the attitude as the numbers.

He's clearly not taking it too seriously. I think it would be very reasonable for a rookie to kind of spaz out about it. I know I would. But he's just kinda like "hell yeah, now time to keep whittling away at that lead."

Just the way it was drawn up. 4 assists aren't bad in 24+ minutes, but if Bynum is leading the way on the night with 6 of em, its going to be a rough night for the Lakers.

The Lakers have been hurting for point guards forever and maybe the kid can find a home near home.

I think it's excellent that he's getting roughly 18 minutes a game (in the 3 games he's played). Those are pretty solid minutes, especially for a rookie second round draft pick. I still have this pipe dream of him eventually taking the reins from Fisher and becoming the starting point guard. Not necessarily this season, but some day. Fingers crossed

I watched most of this game and it was a good one. Kinda chippy too. The Lakers coach got a T for arguing with the refs about Blake Griffin pushing Morris when he was up on the rim during a dead ball right after a whistle. And then later on Morris got a T when there was a scrum on the floor and he went over to help a teammate up. Morris afterward: it was like Michigan Ohio State out there man! Crazy! (not sure the southland really appreciated the reference....)
Just as interesting as the stat-line was the defense he played on Paul, who tore the place up. Morris played with lots of energy but Paul was really good.
Morris also had a couple assists that were terrific: a pass to Gasol in heavy traffic for a lay-in and a lob for a dunk too.
