We are a third of the way through the season... MSU is 1-3, lets say they keep on their current course and multiple by 3... the result? 3-9.

Now that I look at it, they've got kind of a soft schedule. They don't play the Bucknuts. They've got Iowa and PSU at home.
If they drop the game to us, they've only got 5 winnable games remaining. I don't see them beating Iowa or PSU, even though they have them at home.
So yeah, if they don't improve in a hurry they could be looking at 3-9 themselves.
How great would it be if Western beat MSU on Nov 7th? "not the 3rd best team in the state, the 4th" .

Soft? Maybe comparatively I think but still could be a ultra tough schedule for Sparty.
They lost at HOME to Central Michigan so, they are far from invincible at home. I know you didn't say they were...but maybe their home field advantage isn't a big advantage, especially with MSU fans saying, "It's almost basketball season" already.
I could see them losing to any one of those teams on their schedule...including Western. Maybe not Purdue but IF this is classic Sparty noooooo, then who knows? Especially if they lose to Michigan on Saturday (in any fashion), I think it will be mighty tough to salvage anything of worth from this season. I think that would crush everything about them, because the Michigan game is MSU's season now -- they thought for a minute it wouldn't be, but it is.

As much as people bag on and criticize Rich Rodriguez...
we all know..there is no way in Hell that RR would ever make the kind of classless statements that Dantonio makes repeatedly about other teams and players.
RR has too much class, like a traditional coach does...to lose his composure like that.
I dont like Dantonio for that reason. He is a jerk basically.

The transitive property didn't apply during 2007 (App. State > Michigan > MSU = App. State > MSU) according to most of the Sparty fans I know. BUT, I certainly see this being broken out by Sparty fans should we, God (I mean Tate) forbid, lose.
