Currently at #2 on 247 Composite Team ranks for '16

Submitted by alum96 on

I like 247 composite best as it rolls in all the services into 1 place.

We have the most 'croots so its a bit deceiving as I believe teams are graded on the top 20 'croots and teams around us only have 17 while we are >20 but I'll take it anyway.  Should end up 5-7 in the end.  Ave rank should pop over 89 with Gary.

Ahmir says we still have 1 more this week so should pop us to #1 at least for a hot minute. (Please be Long)

Thankfully a staff that can develop them as well nowadays.

This is a great class that's poised to get even stronger.  And to think we'll get even better classes in the future once we start regularly competing for national championships.  The present and future are as bright as they've ever been.

... so I take this to mean 2 out of 3 have dropped -- we just don't know about a third that is going to.  On top of that, there is ANOTHER one who's close to dropping.  Is that how others have interpretted these words?  It's like Bible study trying ot get at the true meaning of these critical tweets.

These teams have literally 1-2 players committed at this time?  I guess I never look at the lowest rated teams, but.....

What happens to them?   Is this a trickle down effect?  How can they attract players?

Obviously this is why they are bad!

I was looking at the CBS ranking of NFL entry draft prospects for this year. OSU has 15 prospects currently listed as draft eligible, with 11 of those ranked in the top 300 (i.e., expected to be drafted). Michigan has 10 prospects, none expected to be drafted. While you can nitpick the CBS individual estimates, it's clear we have a lot of catching up to do. But, we're headed in the right direction at last. GO BLUE!!!

Michigan has some extremely low rated guys on the bottom of the class that many will most likely end up greyshirting or decommiting. The additional recruits are not adding much of anything in terms of the class rating as they are extremely low rated. Michigan has 13 4 star players, OSU has 11-4 stars and 2 5 stars so the classes are really close in quality.

Run with it. Recruits pay attention to rankings and even if we're at the top for that hot second (this late in the game) it's an eye opener. Still have a few to go but this class, though big, has elite talent.

Any idea of the timeline for other recruit's commitments? Some are going all the way to NSD I know, others at All-star games. And someone else apparently this week according to Ahmir!

Of our top targets, which have declared their announcement dates?

I don't know of anyone planning to commit this week that is likely to pick Michigan. Chris Daniels is announcing tomorrow, but he's probably picking Oklahoma. Lavert Hill and Donnie Corley were supposed to announce this week, but that appears not to be happening now and they'll string it out longer. So if someone is announcing for Michigan this week, it's looking like it will be somewhat of a surprise.

Someone tell Nauta he could be the first TE* to win a Heisman if he comes to Michigan.

* No idea if this is true.

Another thing to keep in mind is that all those 3 stars are guys that Harbaugh and the staff id'ed, WANTED, and offered pretty darn early ahead of the pack.  In other words they aren't generic three stars poached last second from MAC schools to round out the class after missing on others.  They were deemed good fits and useful CLAY for the coaches to mold. It's possible they appreciate in starz value as well before NSD.   Either way, this class is looking BEAST and likely will get even better on the top end.

Not happening beacuse no one can remember their head coach's name (click for the lulz; didn't want to post an MSU thread, but someone had to put this on the board):
