Ver' nice.
Here is a University site with some more pictures of the new structural portions. I work for a company working on that project and I can tell you that you will be impressed when you first walk in it. The grand staircase in and associated features are going to be attention grabbers.

Personally, I like the name change. It sounds more refined, more modern. Plus, the building is more than just an arena now with the player development center attached, so the new name is more descriptive of what the building has become.
Then again, I'm in the minority that actually likes "Leaders and Legends", so you probably shouldn't place much value on anything I say. ; )
If you need something specific for the arena part of it, someday we can name the court. "John Beilein Court at Crisler Center.
with "Crisler Center" is that Michigan already has a "Chrysler Center" on North Campus. That could get phonetically confusing.

But really, doesn't everybody specify when talking about North Campus? It's kind of it's own little world.
We need to start hosting the State Finals in Basketball now.. Huge recruiting tool.. Place look real nice, along with the player development center.
going to happen. EL is too centrally located and just a hop skip and jump from MHSAA offices. There is nothing wrong with the Breslin to make them move somewhere else.
If Michigan wants something that might attract some attention, bid for the Class Regional and Quarterfinals that are currently played at UDM's Callahan Arena. Guaranteed to get Detroit PSL teams into your building.
The state finals used to be held at Crisler, so I don't see why they can't be held there again in the future.
They used to give the semis to both cities and the finals to Ann Arbor. Now, EL just gets everything. This is a grossly unfair recruiting advantage for Sparty, and needs to be remedied.
They need to split up the semifinals and give A and B to Ann Arbor, or they need to rotate alternate years.
because Michigan State played at Jenison Fieldhouse, a poor venue and The Palace wasn't built yet.
The finals aren't leaving Breslin. If we're lucky we get the girls finals, and maybe someday they split the A-B-C-D finals between venues but I highly doublt that would happen.
Ann Arbor and East Lansing are only about 60 miles apart. If you can hold the state finals in one, you can certainly hold them in the other. Now that we're making Crisler a first-class facility again, it only seems fair to alternate between the two.
I thought all the construction now was around the outside of the actual arena. Anyone know what is happening on the inside?
they do some power washing of the old concrete, otherwise it won't quite look right
Welcome to Arby's Arena at Crisler Center. Don't forget the new floor is named "Dominos Cheesburger Pizza Court."
Now do you see why they changed the word that comes after "Crisler"?
You may be rolling your eyes, but that's basically what they did in Lansing. That's some "wow factor" right there.
If we're going gladiator ring, we need booby traps. Either tigers in pits, Roman style, or drop-away floor sections, American Gladiators style.
On the plus side, if we go with American Gladiators style, we can start giving our players call signs like "Turbo" and "Ice". I wanna hear the PBP announcer do that.
lovin the updates... cant wait to see the new floor!!!
