Cornelius Johnson's first TD...did you notice Wilson?
I was elated for sure, as I thought the blitz was going to crush JJ or he was just throwing it away. At the end of the play, after he broke free, suddenly Roman Wilson appears. I wondered where he came from and why he was by himself. The answer--check him out at the bottom of the screen at the start of the play. Yikes. On the one hand, JJ never gives him a look. On the other hand, Knowles...haha.

was this not in several posts already and talked about on the podcast? Is this really worth a board post?
November 28th, 2022 at 7:36 PM ^
I enjoyed it.

Can't believe I'm breaking this news in a reply, but Cade is in the transfer portal. Also, Eli Zaret said on Drew and Mike that Corum is getting scoped today and won't play against Purdue.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:55 PM ^
Cade announced that hours ago dude
November 28th, 2022 at 7:56 PM ^
This is sarcasm right about Cade?
November 28th, 2022 at 7:57 PM ^
Jesus. Yes. I've been around a while.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
Wait til you hear about Keith Jackson…
November 28th, 2022 at 8:16 PM ^
At least John Madden isn't showing any signs of slowing down.

Start a thread. I'll drive the zanys crazy. lol

It's not like it was highlighted in Brian's game post.
November 28th, 2022 at 9:43 PM ^
Maybe he has a job and didn't have time to scroll through the thousands of posts like you did.
November 30th, 2022 at 3:42 PM ^
Exactly! I just subscribed to this blog and it's definitely not easy to search through every comment inside every post. Give the guy a break! lol!
November 28th, 2022 at 9:56 PM ^
The amount of pearl clutching about what is or isn't "worth a board post"...
November 28th, 2022 at 11:13 PM ^
...is probably worth a board post in and of--
oh.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:25 PM ^
The board police around here are ridiculous.
why do you care?
1) I don't read every comment of every post
2) It's really hard to view the video on the podcast
3) Get over yourself
November 29th, 2022 at 8:24 AM ^
Relax...my god the amount of people that hop on this board just to do shit like this is so obnoxious. Leave it to the mods.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:39 PM ^
Wilson's defender fell down as the rush closed in on JJ's face. So in all fairness to JJ, there was no way he could've made the throw to Wilson. It all worked out in the end though. I feel like Wilson will get his in the B1G CG.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:44 PM ^
I feel like everyone has been saying this every game. I have thought it myself but I am starting to wonder if it will ever come to fruition.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:49 PM ^
Poor Damn Wilson? And it's unlikely Edwards can throw with that hand, and I don't think Mullings has the arm.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:57 PM ^
Is Edwards a lefty?
November 28th, 2022 at 10:09 PM ^
He threw the ball with his right-hand last year in the B1G championship game.
November 29th, 2022 at 7:30 AM ^
Yeah. I don't see why this has to be brought up again. It almost looks like nitpicking JJ when he absolutely performed at a high level. He single handedly held the offense together.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:42 PM ^
JJ was thinking "Well, I could hit the wide open guy, but think how much more demoralizing it will be when CJ breaks two tackles on the way to the end zone. I'll do the wide open thing next time."
November 28th, 2022 at 7:43 PM ^
Well, JJ had crazy pressure in his face after about a second, understandable that he didn’t see the WIDE open guy, May have not even been his first read. Glad it worked out and gave Johnson some pretty good film before he enters the draft.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:09 PM ^
Not only is CJ probably the first read, but if it's not there, he can sail it over his head and save the sack.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:43 PM ^
It's a zero blitz - multiple guys will probably be open, only have the chance to hit your hot or throw it away.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:45 PM ^
On the one hand, JJ never gives him a look.
Really...? it's a free rusher coming for JJ from the moment the ball is snapped. JJ's eyes seem to be on the rusher right when the ball gets into his hands and then on over to Johnson on the hitch route to just fire that thing away. Really don't see how you can critique JJ on this play. Pretty clear to me that JJ went to his first read, which was open, and got the ball out before the rusher got to him.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:54 PM ^
I'm not critiquing him. I just said he didn't give him a look.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:16 PM ^
Right because giving him a look means taking a sack… so why is this thread worthy?
November 28th, 2022 at 8:28 PM ^
Exactly
November 28th, 2022 at 7:48 PM ^
Never gets old!! Go Blue!!
November 28th, 2022 at 7:49 PM ^
JJ didn't give him a look because Johnson was his first read and he was getting pressured
November 28th, 2022 at 7:53 PM ^
Wide open…. But JJ was being blitzed up the middle so he checked to CJ
November 28th, 2022 at 7:55 PM ^
BPONE tried to make an appearance there but was held at bay.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:59 PM ^
That was the play where I knew we were going to get it going… just needed to make one play
November 28th, 2022 at 7:54 PM ^
Kinda reminded me of the play he hit to Roman against Hawaii…
November 28th, 2022 at 7:56 PM ^
So I’m clear, there is a zero blitz, JJ gets the ball out lickety split hits an open guy who runs for a touchdown and some are calling him out for not hitting a more open guy?
November 28th, 2022 at 8:02 PM ^
Maybe they are just noticing it and not being critical?? Like Man, he was open too, our WR’s were incredible!! 🤷🏻♂️ That’s my positive side. Can’t be negative after beating OSU!!
November 28th, 2022 at 8:27 PM ^
Amazing only US!
November 28th, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
Wilson was open? This is brand new information. Thank you for your eagle eyes.
November 28th, 2022 at 7:58 PM ^
Defender fell down. That’s not on the dc.
November 28th, 2022 at 11:20 PM ^
turf was so dry he fell in his backpedal. OSU fans will claim too much sun and not enough humidity.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:23 PM ^
Yeah, Roman was wide open. Guy guarding him couldn't handle Roman's first move off the line.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:27 PM ^
I’ll add more, Wilson threw his arms up a bit as to say damn I’m open, then saw CJ break a tackle and ran with him. He could’ve pissed and moaned, but team player, ran with his boy to celebrate, these guys all seem very close to each other. Good Shit Jim!!
November 28th, 2022 at 9:30 PM ^
It’s already even answered . CJ hitch was the hot route while they double A gapped blitzes JJ .
November 29th, 2022 at 1:59 PM ^
Huh? i was just complementing Wilson on being a team player.
November 28th, 2022 at 8:44 PM ^
Just WOW!
November 28th, 2022 at 8:50 PM ^
QB needs to predetermine vs obvious zero pressure. quick look with your eyes, set your feet and let it rip. unfortunate to see defender slip and wilson all by himself but thats the way it goes sometimes
