I just chatted with one of my closest friends who is a crazed Auburn fan, and he said that he doesn't even want Derrick, because they have running backs coming out of holes they didn't even know they had... I love it when a 17 year old says he'd going to "shock the world'. I've got news for him - picking his college - whichever one he chooses - will NOT shock the world in the least.
If he really wants to "shock the world" do something that 17 year old's never, ever do. Like returning his parents car with gas in it after he takes it out or making his bed without his mom yelling at him. Now THAT would shock the word.
Or cure cancer....that one's still out there for the taking. Nobody's expecting a 17 year to do that.

There are certain times when you just have to trust your gut and read a kids body language and mannerisms. Green looks like a Michigan back to me. He carries himself like a Michigan man and just gives me the feel of a B1G back. He could shock us all and commit elsewhere but it would be against a metric ton of sense and conventional thinking. Logic and the past two months says he will be a Wolverine. That being said logic doesn't always prevail in college football recruiting.

Green faced better athletes on a regular basis.
Smith faced teams with better records.
If you watch Smith's highlights, you will see a steady stream of him being chased down and cutting back against 5'7", 145 lb. white kids. And don't get me wrong - the highlights are impressive, and he put up good numbers. But the athletes Smith played against aren't the same caliber as they are in the Richmond area.
