I cant bring myself to watch or read much national media with the current breathless panic about signalegate going on. Might watch a few games today and mute them as soon as someone starts clutching their pearls

With Halloween upcoming, the timing of the leaks might be advantageous as I’m sure there will be tons of fans dressed in Michigan gear with phones and cameras pointed at sidelines all across the country. Will show how silly and petty this “scandal” is to everyone outside of Columbus and East Lansing

Desmond saying Oregon has the best costume/uniform was a brain fart.
How could he not say Michigan?

The show is slowly ruining his brain each week.

Omg.   They don’t report any of what is actually taking place.  Still playing it as the worst thing that has happened.

They are literally just trying to ruin our brand.

They gave it away in one of the articles from earlier in the week. There was a quote I still remember from an anonymous coach: "no one is that good."

That's the narrative they're going with. Michigan isn't allowed to be good. If Bama, or Georgia, or Clemson, or OSU is good, it's because of their recruiting prowess (which certainly was entirely within the letter AND spirit of the rules), or the brilliance of their coaches. But if Michigan is good? Must be crimes, never mind the facts.

Personally I think recruiting is the motivation here for these media outlets. Recruiting coverage drives their engagement 9 months out of the year, and Michigan kicking ass with "only" top 10 or top 15 classes ruins their narrative that tries to reduce the game to the decisions of 17 year olds.

If MGoBlog can suss out what's actually going on here, why can't 'national' journalists that are paid to suss these things out?  Why are the talking head ex-players, like Herbstreit and Howard - especially Howard - not explaining the details around this?

Manuel needs to be fired into the sun immediately for letting this shit fester.

It's not even an NCAA issue as far as anyone knows, right? It's a computer crime, like real laws, for which he was fired and now the FBI is involved. How this is a reflection on Michigan football at all makes no sense.

Maybe it will turn out to be something that is connected, but there's no reason to believe that at the moment.
