Hm. Good for him. Wasn't sure if he'd land somewhere so high profile.

Yeah, I would have believed FGCU

Lol he's a solid player...just a terrible system fit.
If Beilein is the coach he's out starting center and no one is questioning that.
Just because he couldn't play PF for Howard doesn't mean he's all of a sudden a FGCU caliber player.
Yeah he was a 4 star. I was still really optimistic about him next year. Showed flashes this year. Was bummed to see him go but it does seem like a poor fit. I'd be glad to have him if I was a Florida fan.
DDJ was a 4 star and had a better year and went to Cincy. Not great, not terrible. I am a little surprised by him landing at UF.
I am not writing Castleton off and he has time to develop but I think given that he:
1) Has already played two years
2) Didn’t blow up
3) Had a real opportunity to compete for minutes
makes it a decent upset that he landed at a good power five school.

Castleton has far more upside than DDJ. What we saw of DDJ is who he is. Castleton has work to do, but you can see the potential.
That was quick! Good luck to the tall fella!
Nothing wrong with coming to Florida.
Tom?
Good luck to him. I was super-excited about him, and sad to see him go. Seems to have the profile of someone who might have a huge final season in college when he gets to that point.

Nice landing spot. He's going to be a beast in 3yrs.

Sorry to see him go... he had some flashes.... a few games he was a monster, looked like best player on court.. but then disappeared... I'll be rooting for him at Florida for sure.
Does he have to sit out ?

TBD on sitting out but he has a decent chance to be eligible next year.
If I'm remembering right: last year 60%+ of undergrad transfers who applied for a waiver of the year in residence got one. In current conditions I don't see that % lowering and Castleton is going to his home state which never hurts.
NCAA is also voting on no penalty one time transfers in May (though that vote could go either way or be moved).
We lose...again
Glad he found a good landing spot. In his home state aw well. Best of luck to him, I think he’ll do well.
Good for him, best of luck.
Wish him the best.
"I have decided to continue my athletic and academic career at the Univeristy of Florida."
I'd like to see Caselton at a fully operational weight.

Good luck to him. UF is a good spot and hopefully he can succeed there.

1. I'm increasingly thinking both Castleton and DDJ got "tapped up" by thier new programs. I would not be surprised at all if there was some under the table contacting of players going on.
2. Alternative and probably better theory, Castleton is from Florida and with all of this COVID BS going on, either he or his family decided it was time to be closer to home.

Jon Horford 2.0.
I mean Horford was a grad transfer who had pretty much already hit his ceiling. Castleton has multiple years of eligibility still and a lot of potential left to realize.
And where did Jon Horford transfer?

Does that make him....A Florida Man?
He is going to be good there. This one stings and were really going to miss him on our roster the next two seasons.
