Coaches Poll, Michigan not in
https://fbschedules.com/college-football-rankings-week-2-2021/
Though Michigan is not in, the coaches still have the near the Top 25. It's not like they aren't poised to be in.
I could say the same about Auburn. They were fire on Saturday. Their new Head Coach, Bryan Harsin, had them flying high. I know it was just Akron they played. But Still, they were on fire, like I haven't seen from Auburn in a while. They are at Penn St in 2 weeks. Penn St made that their White Out Game (they might make Michigan a second White Out Game). I will be watching. I think Auburn is going to win.

Michigan isn't in any of the polls?
Well fuck em
September 7th, 2021 at 9:54 PM ^
Just keep winning . Polls will sort themselves out .
September 7th, 2021 at 9:56 PM ^
Well, there's still a chance we make it in Monmouth and Quinnipiac. At bare minimum YouGov is out there. Fingers crossed guys!!
September 7th, 2021 at 9:57 PM ^
Auburn is not beating Penn State at night in Happy Valley.
No way, no how.
September 7th, 2021 at 10:06 PM ^
The absolutism here seems kind of over-the-top. Auburn's a talented football team, they'll probably be an underdog at PSU but not of the double-digit variety.
September 7th, 2021 at 10:14 PM ^
Please remember that when Vlad says it’s not happening, it doesn’t happen. Either his people made a payment to affect the situation, or some of the Auburn players will show up missing. This is simply how business gets done.
September 7th, 2021 at 11:13 PM ^
Vlad has no heart... rumor has it he poisoned the oak trees in Toomer's corner.
September 7th, 2021 at 10:41 PM ^
I made the mistake of going against Smooth Jimmy last week. That won’t happen again. Penn State it is for me.
September 8th, 2021 at 12:48 AM ^
Agreed, I've seen enough of Penn St. to know that they are legit.
September 8th, 2021 at 3:05 AM ^
It was the 11 first downs, 50 yards rushing, and 17 minute time of possession that could clinch that legitimacy for anyone.
September 8th, 2021 at 6:54 AM ^
Holy shit, that is a crazy stat to have and still win.
September 8th, 2021 at 7:55 AM ^
The turnover stat was the most impactful one of that game. Three Wisconsin turnovers, all in PSU territory and two being inside the 10, killed the Badgers in a game where they had 29(!) first downs and ran 95(!!) plays.
September 8th, 2021 at 7:48 AM ^
The difference in that game was turnovers.
September 8th, 2021 at 9:57 AM ^
Penn State is going to lose. Bank it. Wiscy beat the hell out of them, and lost because of TO's.
September 7th, 2021 at 10:08 PM ^
We got balls Shea. We got balls.
September 7th, 2021 at 10:23 PM ^
What’s the obsession with rankings around here? Most people have predicted us to have 8-9 wins. So why does it matter what we are ranked? It doesn’t change our remaining schedule, our shot at the playoffs, or anything else. MSU honestly has more of an argument at being in the top 25 than we do. If we run the table and beat OSU and aren’t in the top 4, then let’s get pissed off. Until then…On to the next game.
September 7th, 2021 at 10:40 PM ^
It’s just discussion for a, well, discussion board.
September 8th, 2021 at 11:28 AM ^
Well it already was discussed…like two threads down. Or do we need to have a separate thread for every time a different poll comes out and doesn’t have us in the top 25?
September 7th, 2021 at 10:24 PM ^
Fuck Auburn and fuck the polls
September 7th, 2021 at 10:32 PM ^
DESREPESKT
September 7th, 2021 at 10:52 PM ^
Good thing we just a 90+ comment post on the exact same shit 4 posts down.
September 7th, 2021 at 11:17 PM ^
Yes but it’s everyone’s favorite OP with another one of his riveting opinions… this time about Auburn.
September 7th, 2021 at 11:44 PM ^
Yes, but this keeps it fresh
September 8th, 2021 at 12:22 AM ^
Previous post was a different poll.
September 8th, 2021 at 2:55 AM ^
The AP and Coaches polls get posted on this board every week, probably by different people every week. Soon as the CFP poll starts coming out, it will get posted every week here, just like it always got posted before.

I know it can be confusing, but there’s this thing called the associated press, which is made up of sports writers. Sports writers, as the name implies, write about sports. There’s another group of people who coach football, and those people are called ‘football coaches’.
Still with me? Good, now comes the tricky part - Both the ‘coaches’ and the ‘AP’ (who, again, are different groups with different members) vote in ‘polls’ on who they think are the best football teams in the country. These polls are not the same, and a thread about one has nothing to do with the other. Again, I know it can be hard - just do your best to keep up.
September 7th, 2021 at 11:59 PM ^
It's way too early for rankings. The preseason polls are worthless and obviously they missed the target this season. Some of the higher ranked teams looked REALLY bad.
September 8th, 2021 at 12:53 AM ^
I like your optimism, but we're not in the preseason anymore Dorthy.
September 8th, 2021 at 7:49 PM ^
They shouldn’t come out until the 4th week deer slayer. My point is no one can honestly rank these teams.
September 8th, 2021 at 2:28 AM ^
Lets beat Washington, then we will make the top 25!
September 8th, 2021 at 6:16 AM ^
We'll see.
September 8th, 2021 at 7:51 AM ^
Ohio State, Oklahoma, Clemson, ND and Iowa State are all overrated.
September 8th, 2021 at 8:13 AM ^
Good.
September 8th, 2021 at 9:03 AM ^
Gotta hope Auburn silences those in Happy Valley on Saturday.
September 8th, 2021 at 9:04 AM ^
Gophers should be rowing pissed......
they have a better case to be in the 'also received votes' than we do.
September 8th, 2021 at 9:12 AM ^
Polls are useless until after the 4th game. Pre-season polls are based on rep alone, with the exception of the top 3-4 teams.
September 8th, 2021 at 9:16 AM ^
Just like with the AP poll - who cares? Michigan beat a directional MAC team in a warmup game after going 2-4 last season. Show me more wins, and more consistency, before telling me they're one of the best teams in the nation. I'm not buying, yet...
That aside, I do expect a 4-0 start. But, from what I saw Saturday, I don't think 5-0 will be a thing. Give me a competitive showing at Wisconsin before I believe this team has improved from the last couple of years.
September 8th, 2021 at 9:19 AM ^
So on Saturday, Auburn was simultaneously fire, on fire, and flying high? That's impressive.
September 8th, 2021 at 10:32 AM ^
What people don't realize about coaches is that they have no time to do anything else and get tunneled a bit... they don't have time to watch other games, save the teams they'll be playing in the near future... so they simply go off what the status quo was last year. They become tone deaf, and lose perspective... its the great coaches that don't become this....
September 8th, 2021 at 10:52 AM ^
I have to imagine that a lot of these ballots are filled out by sports information directors or other AD support staff.
