I guess you have your reasons and I am not calling you out on your preference, but you have to admit that 3:30 games feel bigger.  There is a palpable tension for a 3:30 game that is absent for noon games, IMO.  Also, the dim of evening approaching as you near halftime creates a real buzz than cannot be rivaled by the shadows of afternoon.  Think the New Math when you think 3:30 games, that's the atmosphere that could be present for this game if ESPN did not think people were throwing Clemson v. NC State parties at 3:30.

because I know they will actually be on ESPN / don't have to worry about regional ACC coverage uncertainty when setting up the DVR.

That said, BaldBill and I were conditioned under Bo to be predisposed to noon games. We were simply more sober as students and thus remember those noon games better, and they were followed by plenty of time to get dinner and party afterwards.

2 play suggestions to try to reverse that trend:

1.  The jump pass.  It is easily the ugliest play in the history of football, but it works, and I think it is a good fit for Denard with the fake run option.

2.  Spread it out and run that ridiculous shotgun misdirection that MSU shredded M with under John L. Smith.  I know it has a more specific name, I just know it as the play tha makes me cry.  i know it is unorthodox at that place on the field.  But 2 for 18 man, unorthodox is all we got.

Michigan had all the "name" and success and Nebraska was trying to reestablish its cred after two decades of losing in the 40's and 50's. We were a 10 point dog, and it was a signature win (against a very below average Michigan squad) that jump-started the Devaney Era.

Should be a close one tomorrow

I hope our defense can give Husker WR Tim Marlowe a little love.  Having read this in the Lincoln  paper:

Tim Marlowe grew up in Ohio, rooted for Notre Dame, and now plays for Nebraska.

With that background, he might be the most despised man in Michigan on Saturday.

Consider the feeling mutual, says Marlowe.

"I've always hated Michigan," Marlowe said, noting his strong Notre Dame allegiances growing up, "so it's going to be fun playing against the Maize and Blue."

It's weird how people advocate noon games just because that was Bo's preference. Noon games do tend to be quieter. They feel like JV games. Half the crowd is asleep. The students show up late. Ratings are lower and the networks don't care. It's obvious that later games -- ones that start or finish under the lights -- have more energy to them. Players say so. Most fans agree. I just wish people would stop advocating the blue-hair position.

It's not like the preferences of fans,  or even the preferences of the schools, matter. The timing decisions are made by the networks. The problem is that, because the Big 10 doesn't allow night games in November, there's only going to be one "big time" game played at 330, and who plays in it is decided by ABC/ESPN as holders of the first tier rights.
