IDK man, I think that Richt is on more of a hot seat than Harbaugh. Although neither of them are on a very hot seat at all. I think of it this way, If harbaugh goes 5-7,6-6, 6-6 the next three years I still think he will be back for a fourth. Richt would be gone after maybe two .500 seasons. Saban should be around 80-100 and the only reason he is not dead last is because Alabama fans are crazier than most.

Richt's seat definitely isn't cool.  And certainly much warmer than a newly hired Harbuagh.  Richt is basically like Carr circa 2005 or 2006.  Or like Stoops now.  He's been there forever, hasn't done much nationally lately, "only" wins 10 games a year, has changed/lost both coordinators recently, and fans are generally restless with the program.  Richt should be somewhere around 30-40 IMO.

I didn't word my comment correctly.  I'm shocked that Harbaugh is anywhere near Richt on the list.  IMO, RIcht should me much higher (very hot seat in Power Conferences) and Harbaugh much lower.  I think my comment may have come out wrong.

I'm not going to bother clicking on that link, because you were so nice in providing Mr. Harbaugh's position on that list.

That being said - how the fuck do they rank these things?  I get Urban being #1 on the list - he just won a National Championship against the ESS EEE SEE and NIKE.  But, realistically - how is Harbaugh anywhere outside of the top 10, or top 20 (for that matter)?

As a fan base, we couldn't get anyone better.  Everyone loves him.  He's been all over the news.  Just because he's taking over for Hoke's heaping pile of 5-7 doesn't mean he's seat is approximately the 44th hottest in the nation.  Garbage.

increases his security.

I expect that Jim will wildly exceed "good enough", but there is a lot of cushion built into Jim's "good enough" from our seven years wandering in the middle of the B1G (or worse).

How is Riley so high up on the list already? It's not like Pelini set some insurmountable legacy at NU...

While I agree Pelini didn't leave an insurmountable legacy and he seems to have rubbed some people the wrong way, he won 9 or 10 games every year (9-4, 10-4, 10-4, 9-4, 10-4, 9-4, 9-3).  I'm guessing Nebraska didn't bring in Riley with the hope that he goes 9-4 every year.  Riley is going to need win and win big probably very early in his tenure if he wants to coach in Lincoln for a while.

Who knows what the hell Nebraska is thinking, though? They hired a coach who went 93-80 record wise at Oregon State (.538 winning percentage) with the highest bowl appearances to the Sun and Alamo Bowl games.

He had the exact same record as Hoke the last three years. I'm STILL wondering what Nebraska sees in this guy.

Ferentz being #12 is hot garbage. Iowa would never get rid of him with that contract and pay another coach at the same time. They're stuck with him and everyone knows it.

Did the math this winter and Iowa could fire Ferentz and have hired Herman from OSU (who has Iowa State history) and came out flat.  So it's not as "out there" anymore as it was 2-3 years ago nor will it be as we move forward.  That said Iowa is probably content with 8 wins a year and running a clean program.  If you fire Ferentz you could either get a great coach, a similar coach, or a worse coach.  The latter 2 are reasons not to fire Ferentz.  And if you get a great coach it is unlikely he is at Iowa for the long run anyhow.

Saban on the hot seat is hilarious because it speaks volumes on how psychotic Alabama fans are.

There are five coaches who have a win percentage that's North of the .800 mark at their current job. Saban is one of them.

Also, Dan Enos is still listed as CMU's head coach which is wrong.

He left CMU to be the OC at Arkansas. CMU's coach is career assistant John Bonamego.

The most surprising thing about reading that list to me is where some of those guys are coaching.

It's basically several straight seasons of Michigan not looking like Michigan that has taken much of the passion away from obsessing over the rest of the college football universe like I once did (unless I'm purposely watching a game to root against somebody).

As a result, I read that and all I ask is, "Ron Turner is at Florida International? Norm Chow is at Hawaii? When did that happen?"
