CC: Rumors and Harbaugh open thread

Submitted by michgoblue on
[ed-S: Jeff Ross isn't even making the announcement today anymore. I won't fight the rumor threads but nothing seems to have changed from Brian's post yesterday. So I have changed the title here. Go ahead and have your thread; nothing I've got has changed my belief that the ball is still in Jim's court.]

I expect that if there is anything of significance that comes us, there will be new threads created. For now, for those of us up early scouring MgoBlog for anything of interest on the Harbaugh, Miles, cc front, let's use this as the general discussion thread.

By the way, thanks, Internet, for making me exhausted today! The Twitter / board frenzy around 11 last night cost me a good hour and a half of sleep. Harbaugh needs to announce that he is coming home pronto!

Ahh, good ole reading comprehension. Unfortunately the scoop never said as much. They did say Nebraska had a very short list, and that Bilema was at the top. Several newspapers have since backed that up. So the question is, did you misread what they said, or never saw it in the first place, and are just repeating what someone told you. Either way lazy. Shockingly Stringer Bell has been silent since I gave him his assignment.

Tim Kawakami reiterating the Harbaugh stays in NFL rumors. He's basically going around blocking anyone who says otherwise.

Sharing opinion as fact does not make it right!

Someone said that nobody cares what someone with the same last name as a jet ski has to say. I got a good laugh out of that one.

People like this guy is the reason that "to rub it in their damn, smug faces" is creeping up my list of reasons I want Harbaugh to Michigan to happen. And I'm not a "rub it in their damn, smug faces" kind of guy.

I bet one of my direct reports that Harbaugh isn't coming.  I figured it would mitigate the blow if he doesn't come and I will happily pay off if he does come.

Is saying no way Harbaugh comes to Michigan. He says Mullen is waiting to see what happens and that's why Mullen had not signed his extension yet.

Come home Jim! Seriously BIG BLUE needs U!

3:37 PM [larry] "Recap for those who just joined: donors told to clear calendars this weekend, event at the Union cancelled, people told to "be ready for Harbaugh" (whatever that means)...Tony's source is a high up guy and this is a great test of his source."

Source: Bears Ownership Met Monday To Discuss Future

As scrutiny intensifies and the Bears have taken a downward spiral in a 5-9 season, members of the team’s ownership group met Monday night to discuss the future, 670 The Score’s Dan Bernstein reported Tuesday afternoon.

In what would come as no surprise to anyone, coach Marc Trestman is expected to be fired at season’s end, the source told Bernstein. The fate of general manager Phil Emery — who hired Trestman — remains unclear. His job status is “under discussion,” the source said.

George McCaskey is chairman of the Bears. No members of ownership have spoken publicly as the Bears have submitted one of the most disappointing seasons in franchise history.

There’s much for ownership to consider. Chicago has regressed in Trestman’s second year after going 8-8 in 2013, and tight end Martellus Bennett admitted after a 31-15 loss to the Saints on Monday that some of his teammates are lacking passion.

The latest major drama came last week, when offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer admitted in a tearful apology to the offense that he’d made critical remarks about Jay Cutler to a national reporter. That was viewed as a major breach of trust and showcased the dysfunction in the locker room.
