CC: Les Miles...Whispers Growing Louder?

Submitted by Cali Wolverine on
My LSU friends are getting nervous for the 3rd time in 7 years as they are hearing whispers of Les Miles to Michigan pending an end to our current tenuous coaching situation. They sent me this link: http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/lsu-football/les-miles-michigan-rumors/ Personally, I thought he was the fit 7 years ago, but after the last two disasters I would be more than happy with an SEC coach that can recruit in the South and has won a National Championship.

John and Jim are both contending with problems that could make the Michigan job a welcome opportunity to step out of an akward situation, and come home to be a hero.

For a number of reasons, I would rather talk about a Harbaugh, especially John, than whisper about Les Miles,  though Coach Miles does know how to win.

The comments in this forum are interesting. Half the people are all for it, the. You have your select few stating he wouldn't fit in due to him not speaking complete sentences, he over signs, takes scholarships away, blah blah blah, not at my alma matar!

....just shut your mouth with that please. Les is a winner, and if you have a problem with him, keep joke around. He sure is a great guy.

I think Miles and the staff he would assemble could begin to get our talented kids back to playing good football. I think he has about 5 to 8 years, which would be perfect timing before Jim gets sick of the NFL and decides to become our coach once Miles retires.

If Les Miles wants to be Michigan's next head coach, I'm all about that.  I think he'd be here already if it wasn't for Kirk Herbstreit.  I think that was a done deal back in 07, but OSU alums were scared they'd actually start losing, so they undermined it.

As much as I'd enjoy seeing Les's passion every Saturday, I don't think we'll see him on our sideline.  I see another safe hire happening, as the university's reputation trumps fan desire. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I don't think he'll be considered.  Just at he was largely responsible for the "non-hire" seven years ago, the reasons are still the same.  I'm fine with it, anything other than Brady Hoke's brother is fine with me actually, but LC has a much larger ego than mine, almost as large as David Booking Brandon's.  A clash of midgets. We'll see who prevails if Chester the Molester actually wants to come back where to a place where that's not a way of life.
