Just imagined Cardale stepping to the podium and about to start talking and suddeny Jamies Winston out of nowhere shoves him aside and yells his explititive catch phrase into the mic and then runs out of the gym giggling.

Yea this could end very poorly for him or JTB. If he went pro it was win-win-win for the three starters they had this year. Not saying he should have went, but it does make things a lot more interesting for all involved.

Apparently a lot of people 24jason. Apparently enough for you to spend time to comment on a thread on a blog for a rival school.
January 15th, 2015 at 4:40 PM ^
Well, they did air it on like 3 ESPN stations live....and they're still talking about it. So I'd say a lot of people care.
January 15th, 2015 at 4:36 PM ^
I'll take the negs...plenty of butthurt in this thread. Adam Schefter (I know, I know) just put it perfectly...ESPN, social media, and people like us made this presser possible. The only thing that's maybe worthy of bitching about is the 12 gauge T-shirt. Other than that what's the big deal?
January 15th, 2015 at 4:39 PM ^
Worst case scenario for OSU is that BOTH Miller and Barrett transfer.
- Miller sees a last chance to start and goes...
- Barrett sees that he had a starting spot taken away from him after a HIGHLY successful season...and knows he can play elsewhere. He'd have to sit out but can you imagine getting a taste of success like that and through bad luck you are riding pine?!
I think Braxton is gone no matter what, and weirdly enough I think Jones coming back backfires on the Buckeyes with odd infighting/transfers.
Yea I know...wishful thinking. But NO WAY all three stay. Either way holy s*** what a dilemma for OSU to have. Good lord.
January 15th, 2015 at 9:14 PM ^
If JT transfers he has to sit a year. Jones likely leaves next year, he probably will have his degree since it will be his fourth year. Why go somewhere else if you are sitting either way and have to learn a new system. Plus there is the chance Jones gets hurt or after an off-season defenses figure him out.
But yes, if two or more of them are here, it will be surprising if we don't have the starter have a bad game and a QB controversy.

Good for him.

Let's go live to JT Barrett's reaction-

Guys, he just wanted to be the first 25 year old college senior
January 15th, 2015 at 6:57 PM ^
Chris Weinke won the Heisman at age 28, and I'm pretty sure BYU is full of 25 year old college seniors, there's that whole, two-year Mormon mission thing.

Cardale has time to call another presser and change his mind in the near future.
If he has a drop of sense that is what will happen - Wow!

I find it hilarious that adults are banging on a college student for deciding to return to school instead of leaving for potential millions. People are weird man.
January 15th, 2015 at 4:54 PM ^
"Banging on a college student" is probably in a lot of our fantasies, but Cardale Jones would not be one of my top choices...

Probably because most of us are grinding every day, and we know you have to get it while the getting is good. We actually want the best for him by going pro.
January 15th, 2015 at 4:50 PM ^
We can cross him off the list.
January 15th, 2015 at 4:56 PM ^
Don't be so sure. He'll probably wind up playing for Ohio State too.

You know, the real tragedy here is that ESPN went on about a "life changing decision" as this is what Jones tweeted in advance of the presser, and CBS and a few other outlets used thousands of words to provide a good argument for Cardale Jones going pro and it turns out...well, it turns out he'll be around for a bit. If Braxton leaves or changes his role in the offense that makes the QB situation interesting in Columbus certainly.

I wonder if Sugar Shane is going to have a presser when he declares for the draft next year...

Ohio's qb situation is only a problem for others outside the Buckeye program, because we feel the need to challenge it as one.
Yeah, it's an ego issue and a matter of choice for the Buckeye staff. But here's the thing, everyone of their qbs is very good. It doesn't matter who starts, you gotta deal with them and their team. So why focus on them?
They are very good. They remind me of the guys chasing Butch abd Sundance. But I can't remember when I felt better about what Michigan has in response. They've got Harbaugh. This is the best coach in football, period.
When I go back and look at him as qb at Michigan, tell me why Bo feels better about him than any other qb ever, and why he wants him at Michigan after he goes to Cali? The guy is the epitome of challenge, desire and winning. Captain Comeback. He is the same guy he always was. You know what I find more humorous than anything else about the aftermath of the search and those who challenged why certain reporters had a greater fix on Harbaugh's hiring than the NFL guys, because Harbaugh was so predictable.
Seriously, this guy is a total professional, who believes in family first and commitment to his beliefs instilled by his parents and church. And if you undestand that, then understanding his move to Michigan and all his professional choices make total sense. He isn't hard to figure, he has followed his father every step of the way. He maintains relationships based on his parents influence. And to me, this makes Harbaugh special. I love this guy.

So Braxton is leaving for sure, then, right? I mean if all three stay who gets the short straw?
1. The guy who won the NC after stepping in for the injured starter that got them all the way to the playoffs;
2. The guy who got them all the way to the playoffs after stepping in for the injured returning starter who was expected to be in the hunt for the Heisman; or
3. The Heisman hopeful returning starter who got injured before ever taking a snap in the 2014 season and has been out recovering an entire year.
Poor Urban and his tough decisions.....life really sucks for that guy.
January 15th, 2015 at 5:24 PM ^
Beyond crazy......
He is not even sure he will start. He can always come back and get his degree....for free if OSU is anything like Michigan (fat chance).
The only upside is if he does get to start and improves to the point that he is a very high pick....other than that...bad decision. Every other option is negative compared to making a million bucks a year, for starters.
Wonder what kind of advice Meyer offered.

Although that would give Urb more options and playthings, it also holds the potential for messing with the team in 2015 and beyond.

People can mature. Get over it. I doubt all of you were pristine, well-behaved and mature students starting day 1 at UM. I certainly wasn't.

they are returning to school. I guess it's news, so whatever. The problem I have is he tweets about "Life-changing decision" and then acts like he's surprised that the media made a big deal out of it. He's the one that made it a big deal "Life-changing" hints at a CHANGE. Staying in school is not CHANGE. He is just feeding his own ego and frankly I think he will see very little action next year if Braxton and Barnett stay in school.
In the end...whatever.
