Without him, we wouldn't be where we are.

Forever Go Blue, Cade.

Will be sad to watch him in another jersey, but I’ll be rooting for him regardless of where he lands. Cade is and always will be a Michigan legend. He deserves every accolade and free drinks for life.

Good luck to Cade.

If he EVER has to buy a drink or dinner in the state of Michigan I'll be incredibly disappointed. He deserves to be a Michigan legend for all eternity for what he did last year.

Yes. He had to enter the portal 3 times, apparently. Maybe it was a Beetlejuice thing? Or maybe he hit submit more than once while it was still processing?

Not only do we appreciate Cade for being the catalyst for turning around UM football, but we should fully support this move. He is a talented QB who deserves to start. Best of luck to a great Michigan Man.

Amen.   Great kid.   Best of luck to him wherever he goes.   Going to be a lot of schools after him.   Purdue and Iowa both will need QBs next year for starters.

I'll say this.  If Cade transfers to a school that plays at Michigan over the next two years I hope he gets an absolute thunderous standing ovation when he gets introduced.

Will forever go down in Michigan lore as the QB who FINALLY helped push the OSU monkey off our collective backs.

Certainly will be better than the sound of the drunken dickheads who were booing him early in the season.

I'm sorry to see him go, but I completely understand his decision. He's got at least two years of eligibility left, and they may be the last time he gets to play football. So don't spend them holding a clipboard. He's got a Michigan degree, a B1G championship, and the heartfelt gratitude of a fan base who won't ever forget.

Best of luck to you, young man. Go Blue!

Posted this in another thread, but I think it's more relevant here:

Thank you for everything you've done for us, Cade. You will always be one of my favorite players for the win against OSU last year, and one moment in particular.

"Cool story, bro" incoming:

2016 was a difficult year. My dad, who is my hero, had his dementia go from "moderate" to "severe". I developed an anxiety disorder that made my life a constant, waking hell for several months until I managed to learn and develop coping and deescalation mechanisms. And a lot of other stuff. Then, The Game happened that year and - after coming so close and losing, in no small part due to biased officiating - it just felt like a lot of things went off the rails.

It felt like Michigan football was a microcosm of my life for the next five years. Always waiting for the other shoe to drop (and it did), positive optimism being stomped into the dirt (a la The Game 2018), coming close but not doing it (2017). It didn't affect my day-to-day life but the parallels were there.

2021 was a seismic shift in a lot of ways. Haskins, to quote Seth, pulled me out of the BPONE. But the biggest moment of the game to me - the moment that made me know we were going to win - was that brief clip of Cade screaming, "COME ON! LET'S GO!!!!!" when we were preparing to go for it. The passion and fire he showed in that moment was what tempered me and made me believe, "We will do this."

So thank you, Cade. I wish you'd gotten more from us, and I wish you nothing but the best wherever you go.

McNamara did an excellent job in 2021. This year, his reaction to losing the job is was first petulance and then silence. Maybe I missed it, but I don’t recall any public statements of support for his successor. I hope he says something now that changes that. His reaction to losing his job, while understandable to a degree, hasn’t been the finest demonstration of “class and character.”

I’d describe those a lot of people don’t like as mostly realistic. Many thought it was awful when I said McCarthy would have to be the starter this year. It wasn’t popular, but it was just a common sense look at what was probably going to happen. I’ve never said McNamara was a bad QB or a bad person, but he could’ve handled this situation and his disappointment better than he did.

Wherever he goes I hope he gets his mojo back.  At his best he's a much better QB than he showed this season before he went down.

In fact, I hope he leaves the B1G, because if he DOES get his mojo back he'd be a pretty darn dangerous QB, even if he's forever a cyan in the run game.
