Can’t be right. Lots of smart guys who definitely know what they’re talking about kept saying that Harbaugh’s interest in the NFL would tank recruiting going forward. Thoroughly confused how such a knowledgable group could be so wrong . . .

He really does seem to value honesty.

I'm not worried at all about the effect on players and recruits. How they played this past season will say more about him than the NFL interview. A national Championship this upcoming season is a possibility. Will it be very hard in the playoffs? Yes. But if the D Line is drastically improved over last season, it is possible.

I'm looking for even better play from Cade McNamara, since he has one year starting experience under his belt. I'm thinking 13-0 is going to happen (barring injuries). What happens in the playoffs..... better than last season, that I can say.

I'm believing. I'm supporting Coach Harbaugh.

"If the D line is drastically improved over last season"

You do realize that Michigan had the two best edge defenders in the country right? One is most likely going #1 overall and the other in the top 20. The d line is going to take a step back regardless of whoever is coaching the unit. That type of production does not just get replaced. If the team is wanting to make it back to the playoff for this year then it is going to be done by scoring a lot more points.

Yeah, that could happen. I just don't think it will. There's too many good people involved in the coaching staff now. There's too many good minds involved for things to shipwreck.

But then again, stranger things have happened.

I'm thinking the team is going to hit the ground running. Colorado St, Hawaii, UConn and Maryland might have some very bad things happen to them.

I imagine every single 5 star recruit is on board w that thinking.  Its the pinnacle of the sport and unlike 99. 9999% of those involved he was right on the cusp of his lunar landing moment. Few have any idea what that's like, not Urban, Saban, Day, Carr, Bo...none of them...to get sooo close...

I don't blame him one bit...and frankly wouldn't if he repeats or improves upon 2021....win championships, have everyone talking, go get your super bowl....but hopefully w a clear, groomed successor.

I don't disagree with your post.  What I am saying is 100% factual.  Jim Harbaugh is at Michigan currently solely because his #1 choice (going to an NFL team) fell through.  That isn't my opinion.  That is a fact.  Michigan may be were he "wants" to be currently, because his preferred option fell through.

Yeah, I really don't think Harbaugh's flirtation will have much impact at all in recruiting.

Cabana is a very solid player, think maybe best in slot.  To be fair, Michigan was his clear current best offer (MSU was keeping him at arm's length).

And like a moth to a flame, one of those smart guys comes to bitch more about recruiting, knock a new commitment, complain about Harbaugh’s ‘disloyalty’ (or whatever you want to clutch pearls about this time) and generally act like a whiny, entitled child.

Welcome!  AA is, after all, the hottest spot north of Havana!

I'll show myself out now...

And you can thank me later for planting that ear-worm, if you're old enough to know the reference.
