Once again, Michigan doing all the heavy lifting for the B1G. It doesn’t matter where they seed us, we get the job done in March. January, February, Marchigan
How very Aaron Craft of him. The big ten is a shit show that needs ref cooking (maybe not illinois they just suck).
Is the Big Ten not as good as we—and the tournament committee—think?
OR does the Big Ten spend the season playing bully ball, overseen by refs who are . . . inconsistent, leaving teams unprepared for non-football basketball and better refs?
Its weird as I want to say football too but its a combo. For instance Liddell hacking away at Jones and almost taking his head clean off, but then touch fouls for him 22 feet from the basket on Moussa. You give a player a crutch and they start depending on it. Hey Big Ten refs if you hate us you are fucking yourselves and your teams over.
Gene Keady would also like a word. You know the guy that finished better in conference than the Fab Five for 3 seasons. Same old shit, same old results. Thanks fellas!

I dont know....I felt like Tenneessee was extremely physical and the refs let it all go. I felt many plays would have been called fouls by big ten refs.
Interesting take. I was thinking maybe the refs should start giving Michigan favorable whistles in conference games, like the flag bearers of conferences normally seem to get (Duke, UNC, OSU football), maybe we don't want that based on your theory.
Would be nice if a well officiate big ten game was a consistent option.
It's a hell of a narrative.
Michigan's success with 14 losses is the only thing salvaging the committee's reputation after taking so many B1G schools and they're underwhelming performances.
It is hilarious though. It's only times like these when I enjoy living in the Lansing area.
And fuck Brad Davidson.

Keep in mind, 52 of the 68 teams in the field (76.4 %) are eliminated in the first weekend, so for the Big Ten to have seven teams eliminated out of nine is actually an average performance.
But yes, the conference owes us big after the last two years.
This. It seems exactly like what happens each tourney.

This take is right to me. Coach B always seemed to coach the team for the tournament. Cost him a few B10 games, but the results speak for themselves.

A theory I heard recently is that the Big Ten excels early in the season because it has more returning players than many other power conferences. Once you get to March, the relatively lower level of talent puts the conference at a disadvantage.
I also think it's stylistic - look at a team like Illinois, who depends on a big man who refuses to pass out of triple teams and two hot and cold jump shooters. Or Wisconsin, one star player surrounded by scrubs. Indiana, no wing players who can consistently score. These generally are not winning formulas in the tournament.

A lot of commentators are advancing the hot take of B1G failure in the tournament. But, it's not that far below expectation as a conference. Yes, there were 9 teams in, but of those teams only three were seeded as 4s or higher--meaning that 6 were expected not to make it to the Sweet 16. 2 have actually made it to the Sweet 16. The conference as a whole has performed pretty close to expectations.
The regular season officiating prepares Michigan well 😁
I'm the idiot because I had picked Michigan going all the way last year, and this year knocked out early. And always take Purdue to go far except this year.
If we get by nova I like our chances. Juwan has them playing big stage basketball. Am floored how they are playing to the moment. Three true freshmen and yet they knock off Tenn. My goodness.
I love this year's matchup. I can't see anyone on 'nova's roster that can match up against Hunter and Diabate.

If we get by nova I like our chances.
Haha. I was thinking the opposite. They go from the 1975 Reds, Nova, to the 1927 Yankees, Arizona, a team that already wiped the floor with Michigan.

Nova is tough, but not an unwinnable game. They had some trouble with OSU's post guys, who aren't exactly stars. I want to see what Dickinson can do against them. If Nova shoots about the same as they did against OSU yesterday, I think we could pull it off.
Zona is a load, but they've got to get by Houston first. That could be an excellent game.
A bad day for B1G Brads. A great day to be a Michigan Wolverine.
I had a great day
To hell with the flopping nut puncher and his pissy midget coach.
Enjoy your first weekend elimination.
Glad he is finally gone!
See you soon, Brad.

Nah, he'd get fired for keying customer's cars as they drove through or "accidentally" dumping drinks on customers
Adios ya fuckin prick!
What a good day of big ten losses
Fuck Brad Davison
fixed it for you
That was actually what I had originally as the thread title, I don’t know why I changed it.
Have become a HUGE Cyclone fan !
Matt Campbell says hi!
My lasting memory of this punk will be him wanting to go sing his fight song during the melee in Madison 😂

The broadcast crew said he wants to be a coach. He will be the perfect future coach of that dirty, whiny program someday but can you imagine wanting your kid to play for him?
I guess if the parents were raising their kid to be a cheap-shot asshole, he'd be the perfect choice for a coach.

I just realized I KNEW an early version of a Brad Davison—Davisonian?—coach.
In middle school, the baseball coach checked if players were wearing their cups by smacking crotches.
There ya go, Bradley, your ultimate dream: an annually renewing supply of guys to hit in the gonads.

Funny! I used to hold a bat and tell my baseball players "cup check". They would avoid the bat by knocking on the cup to say "I got mine". Or, look at me with that "I can't play infield today" sadness.
It's worth noting that Wisconsin, a 4.5 point favorite, lost to a lower seed while shooting less than 30% and scoring 49 points.
At home in Wisconsin.
Don't forget their sizzling 9% from beyond the arc.
Schadenfreude.
That's a shame
You hate to see it.
But do you really????
Good riddance to that dirty POS and his team.
Sparty going down in a soul-crushing defeat (beautiful 20-4 run to snuff them out)...Wisconsin not cracking 50 points and losing to an 11 seed...very satisfying weekend.
Plus Illinois and OSU going down! Beautiful.
Look on the bright side, the Badgers have more time to enjoy the start of spring. Suck it, douchebags!
January
February
Michigan 5th straight Sweet 16 & izzo losses in 1st or 2nd round 5 out of last 6 years!!!
Watching the rest of the B1G flounder while Michigan marches to the sweet 16 is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
Fuck Wisconsin, Fuck Brad Davidson and Fuck their whole coaching staff.
Testicles all throughout the tournament field let out a collective sigh of relief.
Get rekt, you buzzcut thug.
It’s a schadenfreude overflow right now.
OSU, MSU, Dirty Badgers all fall?
Absolutely glorious.
