Braylon Can't Forking Stay Out of Trouble (Jalen Rose Present)

Submitted by Geaux_Blue on

While not directly implicated in the harms befalling two Birmingham bar employees, Braylon once again finds negative spotlight in incidences taking place late Sunday night:

According to FOX 2 in Detroit, two people in Edwards’ entourage were arrested after allegedly assaulting employees at a Birmingham bar.

Per the report, Edwards’ friends got into an argument with the employees.  The dispute made its way into the kitchen, and one employee was “sliced with a knife.”  The wound required 14 stitches to close.  Another employee allegedly was attacked with a fork.  (Alas, the Placesetting Trifecta was not completed, possibly because Braylon dropped the spoon.)

Edwards reportedly posted the following on Twitter at about the same time:  “Damn. Get ya knuckles ready” and “Don’t fight if.  You don’t know how.”

He then gets lampooned for the following Tweets sent in the aftermath

The next morning, the tough talk died down and Edwards tried to run damage control by doing what all celebrities do when they run into trouble on Twitter: Make the "Oh no, my Twitter account got hacked!" excuse. "Yo...Lost my phone last night someone sent tweets," he tweeted. "Deleted them and changed my password. Sorry for the mishap hopefully never happens again!"

Dude. Just stop. Also that bar is a dumpster fire of a crap place.

Edit: Multiple media sources reporting Jalen Rose was with Braylon. angry

I agree.  There were times - e.g., 2005 MSU - when I've never seen a college wide receiver dominate a game like Braylon did.  In fairness, though, do you remember how frustrating he was early in his career?  I'm not even talking about the disciplinary stuff; I just remember so many dropped passes at inopportune times.  I can't say I'm all that surprised about how his NFL career has gone.

1) Nothing good happens after 2 a.m.

2) The internet is not your friend. Repeat: The internet is NOT your friend.

3) Entourages...don't have them.

4) Call a cab. Call a limo service. Call me. But yes, you are too drunk to drive.

I feel the same way. My first year in Michigan was 2003 when Braylon hit the scene. I've stood by him even though he powerbombed me on the snow in front of the co-eds during the South Quad-West Quad Snow War, the repeated stupid comments he's made throughout his career, the problems with the law, and the (many) drops. But I'm borderline fed up with the way he has chosen to behave. It reflects negatively on the program and is disrespectful to his many supporters and Michigan Men everywhere.

He talks the talk, but can't crawl his way out of trouble. Regardless of whether he is a free agent or not, timing is not the issue. There simply is no excuse for having friends who stab bartenders with knives and forks.

Braylon is a free agent; the Jets have already signed two wide receivers, so he's no going back there. You think any GM is going to want to make a contract offer in the next few days with this story out there? Well, other than the Raiders.
C'mon Braylon,

I know better than reply but 99% of your post are about other people sucking.  You can look at all of your posts.  Is your life so bad that all you have to do in life is be a cock-knuckle to people on Mgoblog?  Seems they should add cock-knuckle as "on topic"  around here.  Sorry I am not up to your standards.

Only in Jackie Chan's world in which you find yourself having to fight your way through 25 chef's knife-weilding, black-belted thugs in the kitchen of a Chinatown restaurant on your way to rescue the president's daughter who is locked in the walk-in freezer.

The guy has turned into a disgrace, pure and simple. At some point, he needs to get help and grow up before he ends up doing something that will put him behind bars.

to be clear, edwards wasn't the one forking or knifing right?  I feel like people are missing that.  It's like when you go to the bar with your friend (THAT friend) and they get forking on the brain.  All you can do is try to get them out the door, but good luck with that.

I thought he was a good reader, but I'm starting to question that assumption.  I'm not optimistic that we'll be on the same page again any time soon, but I hope I'm wrong.

if Braylon is involved with it in any way. It should be a punishment for behaving like an asshole, instead of having wings taken from helmets. He's an infant, and I'm sure Jets fans are relieved to be rid of him.

Actually, until I just saw this thread I'd been pretty upset about the Jets FA moves. I wanted Braylon over Holmes (though I preferred to resign both, and I don't like overpaying Cromartie or signing Plaxico), and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the Jets managment was thinking. He had a great season last year, went to voluntary workouts out west with Sanchez, and was saying the right things about wanting to be a Jet, even if he got better offers elsewhere. I was proud to wear my Jets #17 jersey on Sundays last year. I thought he would learn from his DUI and finally turn the corner, regain his Pro-Bowl form, and start to grow up. Now this...

Someone needs to make this guy run some more stadium steps until he grows up.

I'm sure RCMB is having a field day with this, but Braylon didn't actually commit a crime here. It's still the same old stuff: Sparty people commit violent misdemeanors and felonies, while Wolverines usually confine it to DUI's, simple possession of pot, or sometimes not being able to keep their friends from doing something stupid.

This is much ado over nothing.  He does need to get rid of the entourage and stop "living large," though.  I would like to see him have a little of that money left to have a good life after he retires.

The honor of the #1 jersey is beginning to diminish with every negative report on Mr. Edwards.

I'll always remember Braylon-fest as one of the highlights of his career, but I also vividly remember his lack of effort to go down and get a ball that was thrown at his shoes against SC in the Rose Bowl.  The ball took an unfortunate bounce and landed right into a Trojans hands who ran it back inside the 5, if I recall correctly.   Arrghhhh.

I have a different opinion, so we'll have to agree to disagree.  It was a poorly thrown ball and it was at his shoes and behind him, but big players make big plays.  I'm not saying he hauls that pass in, but we'll never know because he didn't even try.  He kept running his crossing route, cocked his head back in apparent frustration, and never even realized the guy picked it off.
