Blue Endzones at The Big House?
Was just thinking about this today watching a replay of the 2008 Capital One Bowl. The look of the blue Michigan endzone was outstanding. What would you think if Michigan decided to do blue endzone backgrounds with "MICHIGAN" in the same Maize lettering as there is now instead of the current, plain look?
I think it would look pretty sharp. I'm pretty sure it would be the first Navy Blue endzones in the FBS? (EDIT: justingoblue proved me to be horribly wrong)

It would look pretty cool. It seems like we've had it like that in the Rose Bowl a few times too. It's a lot better than messing with the uniforms and helmets.

Are you Dave Brandon?

The text in the endzones he suggests is not hashtagged.

Also, he's not in to asking people before decisions #brandingmofos #thuglife

I actually like the green endzones, a much classier look. Colored grass/turf just doesn't look natural.

I approve.

I'm thinking a highlighter yellow end zone with blue slash marks similar to the Notre Dame end zone.
Good one Dave!

No, your all wrong, see if we do go with a new endzone design we need to do it throwback style so that we still honor our "tradition" so basically we are going to not take a single aspect of the "tradition" into account save for I guess blue, throw a shit ton of vertical stripes onto it, paint a mascot in one corner, hastag on the other, change our name to Michigon and call it a contemporary take on 100+ years of football. #progressivethinking

the background would be in gradient form, allowing for 42,512 different shades of yellow.

We currently use 39,452 of those on our uniforms alone.

Would look especially sharp during Maize-Out games. I'd be concerned with how it would balance with the maize block M at midfield, which bowl games don't have obviously. The current endzone wordmark is in the same maize-with-blue-outline style as the midfield M. Mockup?

No. If you're going to be on my lawn the least you could do is mow it whippersnapper

But, like, actual maize. As in, let's play in a cornfield. Home field advantage say what?

Toledo and Arizona have both painted their endzones navy blue before.

Edit: Add at least Syracuse and Ole Miss to the list.

Ole Miss looks like a MAC stadium.
Given all their other issues, it must be really tough to recruit there. You probably have to throw cash and hookers at recruits. Oh, wait . . .

Rose Bowl endzones look sharp. I want those.

...that I've always loved the Rose Bowl endzones. I'm not sure if replicating that at Michigan stadium would dilute the allure for me or not. But in the big picture of things if they decided to paint the endzones blue (or even maize for that matter) I don't think I would object at all.

I like it for a bowl game, but the top picture isn't even the right font... A different endzone once a year is enoug for me...

Don't give DB any ideas. Blue end zones would be the "gateway drug" that would allow DB to have a Blue field with more advertisements than a Sprint Cup car.

THIS IS MICHIGAN. We don't need stupid gimmicks to be talked about and get people to realize we exist like sparty needs to.
Plus Dave Brandon is anti-neutral site game. MOAR HOME GAMEZZ.
