Buckeye fans are pathetic living in their delusional little box!! FSU fans are doing the same thing!! Despite Losing by 60, they think fsu would magically beat all four playoff teams

I love Bill Burr anyways but he absolutely has a solid point about hiring Helow just for the semi-finals game and him dogging on OSU makes it all the funnier

Concern aside here, the timing of that hire is suspect and we know exactly what the motive was.

Let's not kid ourselves. It was about gaining a competitive advantage.  Whether he could actually give one or not is a whole different discussion.

It is case in point that these things need to be ironed out sooner than later if the NCAA is going to point fingers about one way and dismiss another as fair game.

Advanced scouting is against the rules but handing over signs like PSU/OSU did for Purdue last year or hiring a former coach like Bama did is no different. It's all for the purposes of getting the same advantage. The methods may be different but the results are the same.

Either it's all against the rules or none of it is.

Apparently now the scandal is that somehow Michigan got the ACC refs and the NCAA to rig the game for them. They are truly the worst losers, and it warms my heart to see how Ohio State has adopted mediocrity as the way forward.

I think the only "authority" the NCAA has over the CFP is the NCAA determines who is bowl-eligible. Once a team is determined bowl-eligible, then the CFP can opt to select that team for the playoff or not.

Once that team is in the CFP, my understanding is that is where the NCAA's jurisdiction ends, because the NCAA does not sanction the playoff.

That's what I don't really understand about all these OSU fans calling for the NCAA to vacate Michigan's CFP title. The NCAA has no jurisdiction there. I suppose they could vacate regular season wins and maybe Big Ten title wins (not sure if that's the Big Ten office's responsibility, and the Big Ten allegedly considers this whole matter closed at this point).

And honestly, even if the NCAA could vacate all of it, it doesn't change a thing. The games happened. There were 75,000 people who witnessed it in person. Millions watched it on TV. You can't just erase that from existence. Its such a hollow, worthless punishment, especially when you have far more egregious issues happening across the college football landscape.

OSU fans say the same thing about their wins from 2010 being vacated. Everyone remembers them punking Michigan 37-7. That game very much happened. I readily accept that it did, even though it doesn't "count."

Fowler was absolutely howling about a couple calls and Harbs would have had every right to knock Reece the fuck out after all his bullshit - which he piled up quite a bit higher in the last couple days.  Fowler & Davis are gonna co-author a book on how Michigan doesn't deserve its Championship.  I expect half of the 12 people in Ohio that can read might buy it.

Yes but it's Sparty and their mental gymnastics are enough to make Simone Biles jealous

They do whatever they can to cope and seethe out of accepting the truth that Michigan are the undisputed champions in college football.

I'm just eating popcorn and watching the fireworks at this point

They left out the punchline that sign stealing is LEGAL. People off this blog seem to completely dismiss that and NEVER explain how advance in-person scouting gave Michigan such an enormous edge. If someone can direct me to one fucking person who has done that, I'll eat a bug.

Not only people on this blog but 99 per cent of "reporters" seem to have avoided reading or comprehending the NCAA rule book.  Stewart Mandel today said that Michigan was guilty of "brazen cheating. "  What a crock of bad reporting.  JH was absolutely right to claim innocence last night and I hope that the quislings who run the Michigan Athletic Dept don't knuckle under to whatever further BS is coming from the NCAA.  And all these weak, pathetic, and dishonest  coaches who are pretending to be shocked, shocked that sign stealing is going on, despite the fact they all have analysts trying to steal signs need to stop talking.  What goes around will come around.

Thank you and I will pile on to your point . . . The violation of the rule which according to the NCAA

a) is a cost saving rule and

b) a practice (in this age of technology) that brings little or no advantage

It is right there with cheeseburger-gate.  I suspect it brought no advantage or else Michigan staff members would know something more about it.  Think about it, it really, really works and we were able to keep it to ourselves for two/three years so that we would look good.

Didn't think it was possible to like Bill Burr more. I hope he never stops being hilarious. Chappelle was the goat then he went to Africa and came back swollen and unfunny.

I don't think he's really a college football guy though. You can tell by the comment about the sanctions...because other than the Harbaugh suspension(s) there haven't really been any yet as the investigation hasn't been finalized.

If Michigan gets hit with scholarship reductions, post-season bans etc. (which obviously would be crazy but we also can't pretend isn't a possibility given the way the NCAA feels about Michigan), you definitely can't rule out that the program will take a dip.

Vance Bedford says that Alabama hiring Helow is all on Bama-he was always very critical of the play of our LBs when he was "coaching" them. Vance expects Michigan to be sanctioned for not warning Bama about how awful Helow is/was!!!
