Beilein wanted to hire Howard in 2016 as potential coach-in-waiting
Per Brendan Quinn’s Athletic article, after Meyer left for Liberty Beilein called Howard to offer him the assistant job. Howard declined at that time and we got Saddi instead.
Makes all the anti-Howard crowd look kinda dumb when it seems like this might’ve all been in motion starting awhile back with Beilein’s blessing.

Beilein gave us 12 years (during which we raised a lot of banners) and then moved on to the highest level of basketball. No reason to begrudge the guy.

Because of the timing of him leaving. Leaves in mid May when the college carousel is finished, then our highest rated recruit decided he wants out of his LOI.
Yes he did some great things for Michigan but how he left sucks.

Was at the game today and surprised to see how those 3 are almost never on the field together.
Actually sadly I wasn't that surprised. But still, a lot of things about this offense just don't make sense.

We also have a Phil Martelli. I expect the offense to find itself the first couple months but the D will be sound. Hmm...when have I heard that?

I must say I was pretty surprised saddened well shocked when Belien left. I really felt hed close out his career here and probably win a NC....but Howard has me cautiously optomistic
