Beilein following Hoke's lead

Submitted by Dallas Walmart… on

Anyone else notice that in the postgame interview Beilein referred to the Buckeyes as Ohio?  Not sure if this is a new development or not, but either way it was great to see.  Especially after knocking them off.

Honestly, I think Beilein has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.

Awesome.  Thanks for this.  I didn't notice it when he started doing it last year - I also never noticed it when Kim Barnes Arico did it too.  r when Red did it.  And the golf coach, the baseball coach, the softball coach, the field hockey, rowing, janitorial staff, the staff at the Ross Executive Residence, the guys who trim lawns and shovel snow................

Kind of ironic he calls ohio state "ohio" when you guys did get knocked out of the tourney against the mac Ohio, wouldn't think he would find the "ohio" stuff humerous anymore. Good win though.

hoke explained this all last year.

the ohio in franklin county with the criminals for players and cheating coaches whose followers struggle to spell "o-h-etc"  is ohio.

the ohio in appalachia is bobcats.

As a buckeye fan I really do not have a problem being called ohio nor do I call Michigan any of the terms (scum) that a lot of buckeye fans call you, I just kind of thought beings how the basketball team got beat by ohio u in a fairly large upset in my mind that beilein would look at things a little differently than hoke, didn't mean to make the first comment i made on your site to rub you the wrong way. More of a football guy anyway, just signed up tonight on your site because i read your threads every once in a while and want to comment on some questions/comments i see on here

I kind of agree, it's kind of like "Ohio" for all the reasons mentioned above, the script ohio and ohio stadium, never really understood why some buckeyes get mad about that. I get the whole the point i guess with hoke saying the ohio thing and urban saying the team up north just never understood why any of the fans would be upset about either of them.

Our saying "Ohio" is exactly the same as your saying "that school up north", which we actually don't mind in the slightest (btw it took me forever to figure out that that's what "ttun" means on OSU blogs lol). It's just a jab at a rival, and not even a big jab at that. I agree with you that neither fan base should take either one seriously. scUM on the other hand, I still think that's just dumb and it's probably the equivalent of a Michigan fan saying hairless nuts.

It's seriously something I would've found hilarious in elementary school but you'll always see trolls and RCMBers dropping that like they just unleashed the worlds most devastating insult. I really dont get why they think it's so clever.
