The Maize-Out with the All Blue uniforms set the tone for the year last year. It was when things started to feel a little different

While there are plenty of great moments from that game, the one that will always stick out with me is Corum's 65 yard TD run. Just went through the line completely untouched and outran Washington's entire defense. He had at least a gear or two extra that no one on their defense had.

It was the first time since probably Denard that I looked at a Michigan player running the ball and thought to myself "Holy crap, that guy is FAST." Makes me think as well to his long run against OSU and that if he was anywhere near 100%, he would've been g-o-n-e, GONE, but still managed to get 55 yards before anyone could track him down. That's how good he is.

So glad we get to watch him for another year. He will find his way into the league before too long.

The fast guy and/or juke master is the coolest thing in football after a dominant defensive line player like Hutch or Mo Hurst   Or Messner if I remember correctly.

Shout out to Ryan Brower, Monte Williams and Matt Copp from different teams I played on.  After blocking my guy out of the play watching them run was one of the best football memories.  (Other than tackles I made.)

UTL1 we sat in the student section in the first experience with Pom-Poms at Michigan Stadium and in person messing with the sight lines while standing the entire game were not optimal.

However for overall effect and adding to the hype and adrenalin of the moment and how it looks on television these are a value add and very important to a maize out.

This game screams 'Big Noon Kick' to me with the weekly schedule, unless there's already a deal in place.

Penn State made their White Out game versus Minnesota, not Ohio State, so they may know something, too.

If it's a maize-out, can we get our maize pants back?  The blue ones were fun as an alternate, but I'm not a huge fan of how they started to become our default for our biggest games (Ohio State, Iowa, Georgia all in a row).

I really think the Washington game was so successful because of the nice weather.  It's way more likely people have a maize t-shirt or long sleeve than a maize quarter zip / jacket.

It's bittersweet:  I'm a grad from '67 and still think I'm young!  But these night games prove that not to be the case sometimes.  The night games are certainly great fun, typically more than any game except beating OSU or MSU during the days.  But the next day also becomes one of less fun.  So, I hope that the game is an M blow-out and can leave a little early.

However, one of my favorite games of all time was the Notre Dame-Denard Robinson Under the Lights, unbelievable-finish night game...  such drama in the last couple of minutes near midnight!!!  (leaving early would have made me feel so foolish!  thankfully, I have survived that late night for a number of years now!)

If the kids love the Maize Out, fine with me. Still, as an old fogey, I find it all a silly way of trying to make the fans feel like they're "part of the team." Not to mention ... if I'm paying that much for a ticket, I would like to retain the right to wear the clothes I want, thank you very much.

But yeah, I'm old, I know. :-)
