"Awful Announcing" Crew for Michigan @ Wisconsin 2017
Here is the announcing crew for Michigan @ Wisconsin, as well as other games, tomorrow:
http://awfulannouncing.com/schedules/2017-week-12-college-football-anno…
Noon EST - Michigan at Wisconsin (FOX): Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt, Jenny Taft
(Compass Media) Jesse Agler, Chad Brown
Gus & Joel:
Jenny Taft:
Jesse Agler:
Chad Brown, PAC-12 Analyst ?:
Gus and Joel are known quantities up in the booth. I liked their work during the OK State vs TCU game.
Big upgrade over Matt Millen and the Glen Masonry job at Maryland last Saturday.
Sparty vs. Maryland gets Tim Brando-ooh & Spencer Tillman this week, so:

How are Gus and Klatt bad exactly?
Gus is great.
His calls are legendary!

Here's the guy who only reads the thread title before posting. Read the OP, buddy.
November 16th, 2017 at 11:43 PM ^
The website OP posted the info from is Awful Announcing. The title makes it seem like it's actually an "awful" announcing crew.
I read the OP and still questioned it.
L taken.

One colon can go a long way sometimes. So can the word "via" or "from..."
November 17th, 2017 at 7:51 AM ^
You may ask for a ; semi-colon. This may help your irritation.
November 17th, 2017 at 9:45 AM ^
I thought "_" provided a similar function.
November 17th, 2017 at 1:26 AM ^
Jenny Taft is fine. Other than Jim Gray she's my favorite 40+ sideline reporter.
November 17th, 2017 at 1:44 AM ^
Jim Gray's curves though...oohhh baby!
November 17th, 2017 at 6:53 AM ^
You categorize sideline reporters by age?
November 17th, 2017 at 8:53 AM ^
Also, there is no way she is 40+ right?
November 17th, 2017 at 10:46 AM ^
Interestingly, her DOB isn't listed on any sites I found with a quick google search. But she just graduated college in 2010, so she's probably around 30.
November 17th, 2017 at 9:58 AM ^
Is that why the OP has so many downvotes? Because folks are too daft to realize that Awful Announcing is a very well-known site?
November 17th, 2017 at 12:17 AM ^
There would be no confusion if the thread title weren't terrible. Why does the "Awful Announcing" even need to be in the thread title? It's not like it is some kind of real reporting being done here where the source is needed. "Gus & Klatt crew working Michigan @ Wisconsin." Done.
And this was pretty much a given anyway seeing it is the only ranked matchup in college football this weekend.
November 17th, 2017 at 6:17 AM ^
The answer is simple - click bait. It is a bull shit move used by many here. I also believe Brian and the mods have said to not do it.
November 17th, 2017 at 8:19 AM ^
I understood fine as soon as I saw the "" around awful announcing. This is a whole lot of over reaction to a that title that the meaning was obscured by the fact the punctuation was taken away.
November 17th, 2017 at 5:49 PM ^
I honestly can't figure out if he's doing this intentionally. Some of his titles are just terrible but some are good:
Good: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/michigan-purdue-game-announcers-fox-joe-dav…
Bad: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/awful-announcing-2017-michigan-penn-state-f…
Terrible: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/awful-announcing-crew-michigan-maryland-2017

he's not alone.
November 16th, 2017 at 11:46 PM ^
They are arguably the best play-by-play and color guy out there today. Klatt is a former quarterback and they tend to make pretty damn good college football color analysts.
Yet - and I really have to say this, the roster of literate and tolerable college football announcers across all networks is pretty poor these days. And that's really sad.
But yes I AM HAPPY WE GOT GUS this weekend.
November 17th, 2017 at 6:16 AM ^
Color guy? Really? Smh.
/s--in case it's not obvious.
November 17th, 2017 at 9:17 AM ^
Like both Gus and Joel.....
November 17th, 2017 at 1:18 PM ^
but I cringe every time I see anything Ohio State. It is hard for me to even have conversations with family or friends that are OSU fans. It really is the dumbest thing ever too because it is just a game. I have tried to remove the hatred I have for them, but I am beginning to think it is impossible. It also makes my stomach turn not seeing a single highlight of Michigan's in the best moments of Gus Johnson above. For sanity sake, this fan base needs Harbaugh to take the next step next year and reach the Big 10 Championship game. Maybe I am just speaking for myself, but I highly doubt I am. If we could just beat OSU next week, my mood would probably take a 180 regarding outlook.
GO BLUE!

Good Fox crew
November 17th, 2017 at 1:03 AM ^
When Tillman was last doing color for the UM vs. Rutgers game, I kept wondering just how bad it could get. So serious question: how much do you suppose they pay these guys? Wouldn't you think these would be coveted jobs, and that they could find someone better without too much trouble? It's almost like Tilman is trying to say brainless things.
November 17th, 2017 at 6:57 PM ^
He was one of the few football players who knew where classes were held back in the days of Barry Switzer.
As a football announcer, he sucks.
November 17th, 2017 at 1:49 AM ^
they're not bad
November 16th, 2017 at 11:43 PM ^
Maybe its because there are so many games on TV now . Doesnt seem like the announcers want to try to do a good job and bring any insight . Its like they just want to know enough about the two teams playing , get through the game , then do the same the next week .
November 17th, 2017 at 8:00 PM ^
Or maybe there's no more insight to be brought by the announcers after the proliferation of the internet and blogs like this one have completely flooded every fan with as much info as possible which is a good thing. It Just doesn't leave much left over for the announcers who spend what a day around the team before the game.

Gus Johnson is fine in moderation and as long as it isn't soccer
November 17th, 2017 at 8:47 AM ^
..or anything else.
TV will be on mute.
November 17th, 2017 at 9:41 AM ^
I think his best sport is hoops, easily. "Puuurrrreee" after a dagger 3 is one of my all-time favorite sports calls.
November 16th, 2017 at 11:50 PM ^
Good crew. More importantly, where can we find out who the officiating crew is for the game? I've been looking for sites that provide this info, but no dice so far.
November 16th, 2017 at 11:54 PM ^
NFL does weekly referee assignments: https://www.footballzebras.com/2017/11/14/week-11-referee-assignments-2…
Colllege football doesn't.
I'll take a look at Wisconsin game ref assignments this year and make a post. I'm interested too..
November 17th, 2017 at 8:15 AM ^
Yes, that was all that I could find was the NFL assignments. If you find something on the game tomorrow, post it!
November 17th, 2017 at 7:24 AM ^
"Who gives a shit how the announcing is. What shitshow ref crew are we getting and how bad will they potentially bone us"?
November 16th, 2017 at 11:53 PM ^
I swear people complain about the announcers for EVERY game. Is there a crew people actually enjoy?
November 16th, 2017 at 11:56 PM ^
no, announcers have become so cliche and full of hyperbole. the color commentators talk so damn much it drags into the next play
November 17th, 2017 at 12:02 AM ^
This guy gets it
November 17th, 2017 at 12:03 AM ^
This one. Hence the consensus building about how we like this crew.
November 17th, 2017 at 6:47 AM ^
week's thread about the crew before the Maryland game.
The answer then: Bob Greise and Keith Jackson is the only crew that everybody on this board likes.
Honestly, I can't think of a crew working CFB these days that comes close, though Tirico is pretty good.
Personally, I would prefer if they would try to find guys that could break down the technical aspects and explain the OC and DC chess match a lot better.
November 17th, 2017 at 8:57 AM ^
Tony romo. Not a fan really. But he shares more insight in one drive than most do thru an entire game. His voice just annoys me..
November 17th, 2017 at 11:03 AM ^
I like his insight sometimes, but the whole game? Is there such thing as too much knowledge? Some times he should just let plays happen and not call the damn plays out.
November 17th, 2017 at 6:47 AM ^
Bob Greise.
November 17th, 2017 at 11:14 AM ^
In the pros I like Kenny Albert and Charles Davis. I also like Bob Wischusen and Joe Tessitore but they often don't get the best color guys.
November 16th, 2017 at 11:58 PM ^
To be a stupid weekly theme... and you even took time to go find pics and post them lol... someone needs a new hobby
November 17th, 2017 at 12:01 AM ^
And you, sir, need a new username
November 17th, 2017 at 12:09 AM ^
Why change it now lol??
November 17th, 2017 at 12:13 AM ^
I guess I just thought if you changed your username that we might find you more useful than we found McGuffie. You have done well to prove me wrong though. Carry on, Sam
November 17th, 2017 at 12:19 AM ^
I️ think you are confusing yourself. Trying way to hard to be a smartass about a username. McGuffie was more useful than this thread.. and how you gonna go calling out usernames with what you got going on there? Pot meet kettle!
