Austin Hatch Posbang thread
Young Austin Hatch scored his first career point tonight. I loved the HUGE oviation he received. +1's all around.

Nice story...let's try to make this a thread without mention of 'the happening'...
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:06 PM ^
Yeah Austin! Can't wait to cheer on the Michigan Harbaughrines with you in the Big House next fall!
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:11 PM ^
3 minutes before a mention of He Who Will Save Us is a lifetime compared to most threads in the past few weeks. I consider this a success.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:13 PM ^
My bad...Freudian slip...
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:09 PM ^
Hatch is from California, the same state that Jim Harbaugh currently resides in. Just sayin'.....
In all seriousness, congrats to him. Great kid.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:11 PM ^
Actually...he's from Indiana. A state that Jim Harbaugh spent a good amount of time in!
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:12 PM ^
His recruiting pages say he's from LA.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:18 PM ^
You're partially correct. Just splitting hairs at this point. I believe he went to Cali after the second accident.

Jim's sister lives in IN where her hubby is in his last yr at Indiana... so there is that too. Must be harbaughing.

Six minutes? Like an eternity in CC terms.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:03 PM ^
Soooo bad!!
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:06 PM ^
I did too, but if he had hit them, the resulting explosion would have wiped SE Lower MICH off the face of the earth.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:04 PM ^
Love how excited his teammates are for him. Always positive to see in amateur sports. Hail

Love it in the regular season. Go Blue!
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:08 PM ^
Will love it in the conference season (and post-season). Harbaugh will too.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:06 PM ^
Proud of Austin!
Though if I was his friend I'd still bust his balls about the misses.

You'll never get any friends with a hairdo like that.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:06 PM ^
After hearing his amaizing story, my kids have been telling all their freinds. What a inspiration he is.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:12 PM ^
'amaizing' ... nice
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:06 PM ^
That was awesome.

So much dust in my room right now
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:07 PM ^
Watching Beilein congratulate Austin as he went back to the bench brought tears to my eyes.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:10 PM ^
This was not his first career point I believe. He had one earlier in the season I believe.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:11 PM ^
You are correct but I believe that point came against Hillsdale and didn't count in the record books.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:12 PM ^
possible 4 point bang
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:13 PM ^
have to love the smile on Beilein's face when he took him out of the game
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:15 PM ^
You the man Austin! Keep working hard, you inspire the team and the fans!
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:15 PM ^
Such an amazing story. Really heart-warming to see him reach that after the tragedy he has endured.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:19 PM ^
What a determined young man.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:22 PM ^
This. This is why I went to the Coppin St. game.
December 22nd, 2014 at 11:06 PM ^
Worth it.

He's just one of those douche reporters who gets off on pissing people off. He really likes to point out when he makes people mad.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:59 PM ^
In Webster's dictionary, instead of a definition, it's just his picture.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:29 PM ^
What a fighter Austin is. Proud to see him wear the maize and blue.
And Coach Beilein is a mensch.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:32 PM ^
the place will erupt. This is a great story in sports that doesn't get enough coverage.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:45 PM ^
I really wanted both of those threes to go down. A four point play would have been too perfect. Keep things rolling Austin!
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:51 PM ^
Just bang me please.
December 22nd, 2014 at 10:58 PM ^
Though he probably should be redshirting this year, it's exciting to see even the sparse minutes Hatch has played thus far. Hopefully Austin continues to excel and sees meaningful playing time in the future.
December 22nd, 2014 at 11:07 PM ^
I would not bet against him seeing true meaningful playing time in his career. Not just clean-up time at the end of an already decided game.
December 22nd, 2014 at 11:20 PM ^
He helps keep everything in perspective and fun.
December 22nd, 2014 at 11:29 PM ^
can't wait until his Sr. Day. Such perserverance and determination and just amazing loyalty showed by John Beilein.
December 23rd, 2014 at 12:31 AM ^
beecauuuuse on his snr day, we will have won three consecutive Baugh Ten championships?

Once he left the game he was swearing up a storm and hitting the chair next to him - with a smile, of course. Sounds silly, but it was awesome just to see him be a kid mad that he missed a couple big 3s. So proud to have him on this team for the next few years!

Class all around, kudos to the CSU player for congratulating him too. So much to cheer about tonight. Yeah, I know the competition was not of high caliber but still fun to watch.
