Armani Reeves Press Conference Friday @ 10 AM

Title says it all. We'll find out if he goes blue or if our additional DB commit will come from Yuri Wright instead. Both good options, in my opinion.

Sorry to be a bit of a buzzkill, but I don't think this favors us one way or another. I heard a bit of chatter from PSU fans, and they seemed to think that if he didn't announce soon, it would mean bad news for them. This early announcement does seem odd considering how recently Michigan came back into play, but I wouldn't be too optimistic. I still think they (PSU) are favored, but then again, I'm no insider.

The only way I could positively put a spin on this for us would be that it has always sounded like he has really liked what Michigan had to offer but earlier in the process he wasn't ready to commit and they parted ways. Now, with a renewed interest, having seen the other two schools as well, the limited spots left, and the HUGE ND visit weekend, he doesn't want to miss out a second time so he is making a decision. I know that might sound crazy but if we didn't have a legitimate shot, why even announce we were back in contention to just decide the next week. I say 50/50 Michigan/PSU. Just got a feeling ND Oscar third wheel.

Based on nothing, I'm gonna say PSU looks pretty good. I'll still take some Yuri Wright, though.

Although I must say it's definitely weird timing that he waits to put us back in his top 3 then chooses..

Seems too soon for Reeves to be now choosing Michigan given that we just entered his top three last week. I hope he goes blue but it would be very surprising. Just would seem odd that he would choose us given we were out of it for the last couple months, then showed interest again and got back into his top three and now he is choosing. Hope I'm wrong.

Yep, this doesn't look good for UM, the timing just doesn't fit.  I'd love to have Reeves but Yuri is truly the "elite CB" we need if the coaches really want another DB.  The bottom line is somebody is getting left out in the cold if Dunn wants to come.  This is getting interesting...

Can we chalk up this first time we got burned a little by asking people to commit early? Put the pressure on TRich/Standifer and then shut down DB recruiting. Now T-Rich is anything but firm and we're missing out on a guy we really liked.

Not saying I dislike the strategy at all. We knew it wasn't going to be all rainbows and butterflies. There were definitely going to be some casualties. Just wonder if people chalk this up to the "commit early" strategy or something different.

this doesn't seem good for us...but wasn't he a guy who wanted to wait and take his visits? Maybe he just really wants to get that last cb spot before its gone. Good luck to him wherever he decides to go, he seems like a nice kid.

Im torn but since everyone seems to say the timing is a negative il spin it ... Could be Armani knows the UM class is filling up and knows the Yuri Wright interest is there and sees this is the time to get on the UM bus or he may miss it..maybe even miss it AGAIN

with stonum redshirting and, therefore, available in 2012, the coaches might consider not taking a WR this year. Receiver is a position where players can come in and succeed as freshman.  On the other hand, DT and Oline (and CB to a lesser degree) are positions that require a few years of development. id rather sure-up those spots now, and grab a few (hopefully college-ready) WR's in the next class. i can't really see the coaching staff turning down committments from any of garnett/diamond, wright/reeves, o'brien, dunn.

The amount of faith we have in this coaching staff to get whatever recruit they really want is hilarious. Most of us assume that if we don't get Reeves we'll just "settle" for Wright.

i really wan wright so losing reeves wouldn't sting to bad...

as for the remaining 4 spots I think they go to.... garnett, dunn, payton, wright

obviously all speculation, i'd love o'brien, but i thnk chris rock and wormley can both grow into 3-techs, also with Ken WIlkins weight gain I have faith he can contribute there in the future as well
