The "Are We Under Lockdown Again?" Open Thread

I mean when the "straight from the former coaches" post is shooting past 160, I figure our options have been limited.

I think at times, Brian/Tim/mods shut down voting/new post functionality to allow us to be able to actually use the site.  Its the same thing as before.  This iteration seems to be a preemptive strike against the rush caused by a potential Les "mmmm truGreen Chemlawn" Miles hire in the next 24 hrs.  Its more important for Brian to keep the site up (so he can make money for food and computers and interwebs and Michigan football) than for us to be able to give each other mgopoints.

Move along...

RR was fired.

Then he wasn't.

Then he was.

Then Harbaugh was a lock.

Then he went with his dream to coach in the NFL.

Then LSU's administration was ready to boost Miles' contract to keep him.

And now they're willing to give up cash so we can have him.

Yeah, ok.

LSU will get Pelini, who is a great coach and was the DC for Miles in the 07 NC game. They wouldn't have to pay him as much as LM and will get better results and will always keep Saban on his a$$.

Advantage LSU.

If we take LM we have to pay him almost what LSU did or more $4.5 million and he is not a bonified canidate.

Disadvantage UM

Hoke can take a concrete parking lot and turn it into a beautiul corn field, which has been proven from  Ball St. to San Diego St. Also he will not cost as much as LM.  Put HoKe with TCU's Dick Bumpas and we come out a whole lot better than paying LM and his staff big money

That Miles is a bona fide candidate is beyond question. Hell, he's prob agreed to take the job by now.

But he said bonified, and I thought he was talking about stiffies. You know, coach search woodies. A standing hampton, as they say across the pond.

And I guess we shouldn't go there w/ Lester either.

But seriously, quit worrying so much about who is the better deal for the money, we're one of the wealthiest programs in the country, we should take advantage of it.  BCS trophies aren't given out on the basis of wins/dollar anyway.

If Les Miles costs twice as much as Hoke and is only a slightly better coach, I say we take him.  I'm not going to be happy if we lose to OSU thinking, "sure OSU beat us, but look how much less we pay our coach!"
