AP Article: "Wolverines served notice in Harbaugh's first season"

Submitted by Muttley on
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- If the hoopla surrounding Jim Harbaugh's return to Michigan seemed like a bit much at times, just wait until next season.

<snip>

The Wolverines didn't accomplish everything they wanted to in 2015, but their 10-win season felt like the start of something bigger.

''It set a foundation for us, I think,'' running back De'Veon Smith said. ''We're going to carry this over into next year in 2016. . I'm pretty sure Coach Harbaugh will push us until we do that.''

See Wolverines served notice in Harbaugh's first season.

Putting my liberal arts degree to use, I feel like one of the Brits during the Crispin's Day speech from Henry V.  Cannot WAIT.

Nine looooong months until we start some asskicking.

You shouldn't concede the point so quickly. Some of the soldiers under Henry V in the play are Welsh.

Witness the character Fluellen [mangled pronunciation - presumably intentional - of "Llwellyn"]. It is a running joke through the play that because of his accent, no one can understand what he is saying.

Because you're doing that thing you often do of trying to show how smart you are by waiting for your chance to correct others. And I find it obnoxious. In this instance he is imprecise where you are the one trending towards wrong. I'm sure it is hard to take but don't worry the rest of us in the world have been wrong before.

Even so, rivals would still give the attention.
Sparty makes the playoff; an alum writes an editorial about (gasp) Michigan.
Appalachian St. wins a bowl game; LandGrant tweets "sorry @umfootball" as if Michigan is somehow bound to that program for eternity.

If Michigan gets attention, they get pissed. If not, they'll make it happen anyway.
