Priceless. As he looked like he was in the clear for 6 the ball was knocked out from behind. 2nd lost fumble at the goalline this year for LJ and the Sparty's are livid that he's still their #1. That would've made it a 14-21 game at the time. ND proceeded to get a TD drive after taking over at the 20.

I would never, ever, ever wish for a player to get injured, but there would have been a certain fitting irony if Dantonio's petty "hurry up offense with the starters in down 20 with a minute left to make the score look better" bullshit had resulted in Lewerke tearing his ACL again on that low sack.

Also, the dorktonio's may be garbage, but they also sucked last year and look how close that game was. Strange things tend to happen in this game. Personally I am expecting a nail biter all the way down to the wire. Hopefully with us winning.

...more total yardage and time of possession too..
..turn overs sunk them. If they play like that against us we will have a tough time winning 〽️

But State was nowhere close to equal to ND, much less outplaying them. If you're looking at game stats, garbage time yards should be backed out. TOP also doesn't say much if the opponent is constantly working with a short field and getting chunks of yards at a time. State's defense was pretty abysmal, especially compared to what they have fielded in the recent past.

And their offense was just that. The biggest surprise for me was LJ Scott. The one good run I saw him have ended with the fumble at the one-inch line. Bottling him up is key. Lewerke can keep plays alive but suffers from horrible decision making.

The only thing that will keep the game against State close will be the hope on State's part to salvage their season.
