Any word on Shaw? I thought we'd know yesterday...

Submitted by B10 or Bust on

IIRC, Shaw had to take a test yesterday, and the results would determine if he is eligible or not.  Since it's been quiet, I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything from insiders.  It seems like the coaches would want to know ASAP, and that'd be a hard secret to keep.

Anyone?  Bueller?

Ya I was really surprised when RR said they STILL didn't know about his eligibility as of yesterday.

I know we have a lot of available running backs, but with Toussaint injured, it would be nice to have Shaw and Smith as some guys with experience.

On another note, does anyone know how Toussaint is doing and if he'll be able to go on Saturday?

I don't know if those guys were ever regarded as "gut feelings."

I do know that Sean Parker was silently committed to Michigan, at least for a short time.  Sam can't help it if a kid changes his mind.  I seem to recall that Parker was doing some recruiting for M while at the Army AA game, and was to be on the cover of GBW's recruiting edition.

a shot at Sam Webb, as I believe that whenever this happens, a kid actually has given a silent commit, and then changes.

But it's precisely because they change their minds (and it seems as it's happening more and more each year) that a gut feeling ain't worth what it used to be, and is certainly not a stone cold lock anymore.

My guess is they're still waiting to hear what his grade was for the class he took? It's probably bad form to email the professor and tell him/her to hurry up with the grades because they've got a game to play etc. I'm just assuming he did fine.

and together they got Cameron to take a couple of finals for Mike...

Rather choice, if you have the means...

I think a previous post from FormerWolv said that Shaw was taking his test today. If so, that would fit with the Sam Webb statement that we should know on Wed/Thurs.

He has worked very hard in the off season on his academics and I believe he will be rewarded with his eligibility granted.  Shaw's speed is greatly needed in the backfield this season.  Especially with the status of Vincent Smith's knee being in game shape unknown.  Looking for a big y.p.c year this season from Shaw.  GO BLUE

I can't say whether he is ineligible at this point--all I can legally say is that the results of his latest grade submissions are nothing short of shocking.

As in, he's in.
