Any word on Raymon Taylor or Jabrill Peppers??

Submitted by Perd Hapley on
I was wondering if anyone had any news on if Raymon and Jabrill would be active today. From what I have bean reading it sounds like Miami is somewhat pass heavy and I would be surprised if they tried to run much against us with our front 7. I feel like with one or both of those guys healthy Michigan will run away with this game early. If not they may be able to hang around for a while and make my Saturday afternoon a bit more stressful than it needs to be. Any thought or news on jury's today? How do you think our DBs will hold up today?

I wouldn't be surprised if Funchess, Gardner, Taylor and Peppers don't play. With the latter two being more likely that the former.

I just want an easy win with no injuries. Please!

I'm so glad that hoke and company have kept the injuries and how we are planning for our opponents a big secret, because it has obviously paid huge dividends so far. When you've had the kind of success Hoke has had at Michigan, NOBODY deserves an explanation fergodsakes.

Agreed, however it just seems like when I see guys like Saban, harbaugh, and I hate to say this , even urban Meyer... Those guys always seem to answer whatever questions they are Asked. They are candid with the media. They have a good relationship with the media. So what are my conclusions? THEY KNOW what is going on with their program. The way Hoke is with the media, combined with what is becoming his record, would lead any reasonable person to believe he has no idea what he is doing. I'm not advocating they fire him at all. I would love the way he treats the media if we ever came out and DiD ONE F ING THING tHAT WAS UNPREDICTABLE. But what do we do? We come out against an opponent on fourth and short at the beginning of the game, on the road, and we go for a field goal, nearly a fifty yarder no less. Even if we make that field goal, it's a Pyrrhic victory. Long story short, you don't have to be secretive when you don't have an ace in the hole. The secretivity has become a bluff, and a bad embarrassing bluff. He's not hiding shit from anyone except himself.

Because what's the point not to? Gamesmanship against Miami(NTM)? Hoke going up there and bumbling about "boo-boos" and then getting obstinant to the point of defiance about just about everything, including injuries, comes off as petty and small. If a guy is hurt, he's hurt.

This isn't about HIPAA. It's about a coach coming off as a buffoon in front of the people writing about his program.

He absolutely was. Although obviously not confirmed, but remember when Kovacs was injured for the (I think it was the Purdue game?). He had that huge wrap on his knee for the game. During the 15 minute media availability Hoke put Matt Cavanaugh (another white walk-on safety) in Kovac's jersey to cover that he wasn't practicing that week. Hoke has always been like this. But has Reader said, no one cared or payed attention when he was winning.

The point of doing it agains Miami( ohio) is to be consistent regardless of the opponent. I think the media would appreciate knowing what to expect from a coach as far as how he deals with them. I think it's a little extreme to get on a coach for not revealing injuries to the media. Especially when you try to equate that to the performance on the field. I personally think it hits a little more close to "the fan" being upset because he/she doesn't get their fix of intel for this weeks game. I understand, I'd love to have a direct line to everything michigan Football....or just Michigan Sports for that matter. If your opinion is that the coach simply "doesn't know the answer" when asked about injuries, then you are right, THIS would affect the play on the field because the coach would be an idiot. But I think most fans would laugh at the idea that hoke is that type of coach.

Maybe if Shane comes out and throws four picks and Michigan wins Akron-style it will give the "Bench Gardner" crowd some perspective.

Nah, what am I thinking?

I'm only for "bench Gardner" if he is having another bad game. If you stick with him throughout the entire blowout game, you have to start him the next game (if healthy) But like I said before, this game will tell us nothing about how good our QBs are regardless of who plays.... Well unless whoever plays has a horrible game.

By the time the fourth quarter comes around. Hoke is distracted by his wives pizza covered in ranch. You expect a guy whose only been a head coach for ten years, with a new offensive coordinator, only his fourth year at Michigan. These things take time, baby steps. /s
