To all doctors out there: can we just slice off pieces of Pipkins and Williams and attach them to Ojemudia and Richardson?
Can it be done?! Do we have the technology?!
Wasn't Frank Clark at like 230-235 last year?
damn - I forgot how awesome this class is!
Suprised to see Willie Henry at 302.
Me too. According to his rivals page he was 6-2 270. I just wonder how much of that is good weight.
I knew TRich was light but 154? Holy toledo....Hello Redshirt! I too hope that Darboh is lean...Figure once camp starts, some of these guys will lose a few pounds too. I think Kalis at 320 in a couple of years is ideal.
Suprised to see Wormley only listed at 6'4". He has been listed at 6'6" - 6'7" at different times.
BURYING linebackers, Martell Webb 2.0
Are Roh and Black aiming for 290 or are they supposed to be done adding weight by now?
RJS (206) and Ross (225) seem to have reversed in what we had initially thought. Ojemudia at 223 is still very light for a DE, but a little better than the low 2's we've heard he might be at.
Wormley and Strobel seem to have enough weight to possibly contribute given their lofty ratings.
Both TE's seem to be about 20 pounds heavier than what we last heard with Funchess at a respectable 225, might be able to contribute.
I would say Wormley is a little more likely to contribute. But who knows, both of them may rotate in and out this year.
RJS is just begging for a redshirt coming in at that weight. Not a bad thing, though.
And countless hours in the gym and getting used to college in general.
That scares me in both good and bad ways.
Clark at 6-4 and 191 seems silly-skinny to me, but I guess we'll see how these kids look after camp. Kallis feels like he's got 20-30 pounds to add pretty easily.
Rawls seems to have lost 15 pounds. Might be a bit more explosive in his running.
Edit: nevermind, it looks like he was listed at 219 last on mgoblue
Also down 15 pounds from last year.
IIRC he was 248 last year.
That's what he's listed in HTTV
Yeah, I was gonna check my copy...then remembered I still haven't gotten it.
Goodbye redshirt talk, hello 5+ sack production from this uninformed poster. Plenty of size to get on the field in passing situations. His speed and moves are going to be a significant change from Beyer/Ryan, and I think he'll run by a few Tackles who haven't adjusted.
Seems telling, yes? I hope not - we need all the d-line depth we can get...
I don't see him playing this year, if ever at UM.
No Cam Gordon either, or Ricardo Miller. I think some of these are trickling in - they obvisouly aren't updating everyone at once. It may be telling, but it's not like he's the only one not on the list. And if Cam Gordon and Ricardo Miller are also off the team, then we should be shooting for more than 25 in this class.
EDIT: No Paskorz either.
FYI, on the Rivals list that they posted, Cam Gordon is listed at 6'3 235 and Frank Clark IS listed, and its at 6'2 260. However, Paskorz and Ricardo Miller aren't listed.
The updated measurements on Clark are telling - if he was off the team, I don't think he'd be showing up to weigh-ins. This is by no means conclusive, but it's a good sign. Him being 260 is also a good sign.
The fact that Paskorz and Miller are both missing is a little weird. Did the TEs weigh-in last or something? Is Eddins on the list? A guy like Paskorz wouldn't be a huge surprise if he moved on, but Miller would, if for no other reason than his passion for the school. We'll see I guess.
Check Rivals, we didn't have a 28 man class last year. If the total number allowed, we could take 28 this year if 3 guys EE, which we have.
He was listed as 215 on three sites and 228 on 24/7. Obviously a lot of these are self-reported, but 206 is way lower than anyone would have thought. He was pegged as a possible SAM, but he's 40 pounds away from sniffing PT at the SAM. That's a 20% increase in body weight!
Royce is lighter than I would have expected
Ross is heavier
Mario has to redshirt and pack on some weight - he's not a speedster so you wouldn't waiste a year on special teams (he's fast, just not fast...)
Rawls seems to be at a great weight, seems like we'll have a bunch guys from 210 to 230 for several years to come
Godin is a little lighter than expected. I think he'll get a redshirt and get up to 285'ish next year. His trainer should have been all over this.
Bolden looks like he'll play his last few seasons in the 230's which will be great
Beyer up to 250 ! Excellent
Good to see him up to 252, decent size for a WDE. With Ojemudia at just 223 I wonder if this means that Ryan will go to WDE whenever Beyer needs a breather, and Cam Gordon will play a lot at SLB.
If Clark is really off the team, I would guess either Strobel will be the back-up WDE or Ojemudia comes in during obvious passing situations. He's small, but he's a guy who will always be the "undersized but doesn't play like it" guy. Dude has a motor that won't stop, and at 215 was a terrorizing DT in high school. He'll be OK.
I don't think Jake Ryan plays WDE at all unless Cam Gordon proves to be a very good back-up. Remember, in our nickel package, the SDE comes off and the SAM plays DE in his spot, so Ryan will already be playing DE on clear passing downs, but on the other side. And he'll need to get a break some time too.
My guess is Beyer is asked to get in really good shape, and might not get too many breathers. But all it takes is for Ojemudia or Strobel to look good enough to be a back up and we're fine. Hopefully our D will be good enough to get teams off the field quickly and our O can march the ball enough to give our D enough rest.
Jack Miller: 6-4, 287
So i guess Frank Clark is off team..
Kenny Wilkins: 6-3, 290
Up 12 lbs from last year, him at 242 with his blitzing ablility is just scary.
Any reason why?
Anyone else think - outside of Norfleet and Richardson - that this class is HUGE? I mean that literally, not figuratively, although the converse is true as well.
little man, but I think he will be a secret weapon some day, sneaking in, out and under these ogres at the speed of light.
