That voice is so soothing. I want him to narrate some audiobooks for me.

How are we going to reconcile the 2011 All-Dreads team with a coordinator that has no hair?
January 19th, 2011 at 2:33 PM ^
Calvin Magee wasn't exactly Greg Robinson in the hair department.

It's 3rd and 11 were going 5 wide damn it!
Run the F'ING ISO!!!

After the last few years, I am fine with coordinators with no hair!
January 19th, 2011 at 3:47 PM ^
Brady Hoke clearly understands one of the cardinal rules of coaching: the assistant coaches should never have better hair than the head coach.

So that's the first place where GERG went wrong. Interesting.

dreads and no hair provides us with balance.

some might even say... diversity.

I would have to say that I am ok with the look.

Can't wait to see these guys out on the field and playing. The spring game should be interesting and fun to watch.
January 19th, 2011 at 2:38 PM ^
Just by opening this page and seeing his big smile, my day is now better.
January 19th, 2011 at 2:41 PM ^
He doesn't understand the rivalry. West coast guy who only watched the games on tv.
sarcasm

I'm glad you added the word sarcasm otherwise I wouldn't have known.
January 19th, 2011 at 2:59 PM ^
West coast...you mean like this??
January 19th, 2011 at 2:45 PM ^
i hope part 2 is about denard.
January 19th, 2011 at 2:49 PM ^
But don't go and forget about Devin Gardner.
If he can get that medical red-shirt, we're set at QB for awhile.
January 19th, 2011 at 2:54 PM ^
that he went on about how UM is "it" made me feel better about this staff. RR seemed to be thrilled to 'upgrade' - borges seems to be enough of a student of the game to know what it means to be coaching at Michigan etc etc etc
January 19th, 2011 at 3:07 PM ^
Seems like a pretty cool dude.

"We've got wide receivers galore."
I wonder if this line of thinking led to the disaster that was the non-recruitment of Devin Lucien. I like this staff and am optimistic, but when a 4-star talent is throwing himself at you and you have less than ten guys wrapped up in the class two weeks before signing day, please take him.
Another thought: What's going to happen to the Terrance Robinsons, Jeremy Gallons, and Kelvin Gradys? We already had a logjam at slot receiver. Now that position may go away.
January 19th, 2011 at 3:21 PM ^
I had the same thought re: "WRs galore" and Lucien, and the move to an offense that emplyoys a TE instead of a 4th receiver. Hopefully they allocate his position to a D-lineman and are actually able to fill it with a talented recruit. It'll be interesting to see if we get back in on Lucien if the coaching staff determines that we won't be able to otherwise fill the slot.

Based on Tom's interview, it sounds like we burned our bridge with Lucien.

Inside PressBox March 29, 2009: Ravens Defensive Coordinator Greg Mattison from PressBox on Vimeo.
Yeah, this isn't an interview from Michigan. It is when he was with the ravens. But it's cool the way he talks about the defense. Back in the Carr days, the Michigan defense and ONLY the Michigan defense players and staff met at Schembechler Hall on Thursday nights before games and did some crazy chants/team rituals, whatever you want to call it. I feel like he will bring that unity back to the defense. And he is also so well spoken and I'm sure that and his years of experience will help with recruiting.
Is it just me or do Borges and Mattison look alike?
January 19th, 2011 at 3:27 PM ^
The new staff may be too much for homophobes to handle. First, at his introductory press conference, BH is talking about touching thousands of young men, now AB is talking about "lovin' em up and getting hard on them".

I'm not trying to be an ass, but dude seriously needs to lose some weight. I'd like all of our coaches to be healthy enough to do their jobs for a while, ya know?
January 19th, 2011 at 4:06 PM ^
At least he can touch his hands together, he's not built like this:
January 19th, 2011 at 4:38 PM ^
he could fill some holes on the offensive line.
January 19th, 2011 at 3:41 PM ^
A multiplicity of groupings
That means the offense will be awesome.
January 19th, 2011 at 5:57 PM ^
Interview, sounds like he wants to be here.I think are offense might be better next year.GO BLUE!!!

Borges has a nice presence. One good thing about older coaches, is that they know what they're doing. He's gonna be really good for the O players.
