31 Point Win

I know some folks are stuck in BPONE. I don’t mind a boring and huge win like this. Defense really did nothing exotic and neither did the offense.
Lets keep it Vanilla and enjoy the fact we get 2 weeks for Don Brown to prepare a defensive game plan for the agriculture school.

Teams we have played that scored on us and are behind Maryland on the talent composite:

  • Wisconsin
  • Illinois
  • Iowa
  • MTSU
  • Army

Maryland doesn't completely lack for talent. They've got injuries and it's a new system and all that, but, man. All that talk and no offensive points. Not a lot of good excuses for that one.

I had this game on in the background, but I wasn't actually paying attention for more than like 8 plays. Kind of a nice feeling.

Obviously a game the coaches and players put NO importance on.  Very lackadaisical and uninspired play.   Defense was the definition of bend but don’t brake.    The QB play is still woeful.    They are glad that game is over, now on to STATE

Or any competitive sport past like grade school.   That element is rampant on message boards. Even great message boards like this.   Zero allowance for the fact that the other team has quality athletes. That every team gives up first downs. And has difficulty on offense at times.  True no matter the opponent.

No complaints about the outcome, but after the last six quarters, I was really hoping to see even more flow and coherence on offense.  It wasn’t really there.

Enjoying the win. Enjoying the solid performance overall. Enjoying that this year's team, whatever its flaws, is MUCH better than we had for years before Harbaugh arrived.

Definition of totally fine. Not fine in a bad way. They had the opening KO return. Scored some TDs to keep the game well in hand before half. Defense settled down as it went along.

Just fine. And something good teams do.

That really is a perspective we need to look at. The obvious evidence of growth on this team is here. The defense is figuring it out and hell Don Brown is running zone.
I am confident we are seeing a spring board for the program. Remember, Clemson wasn’t great, they had a springboard season. This feels like an actual springboard. The team is responding and Harbaugh is being Harbaugh again.
