31 Point Win
I know some folks are stuck in BPONE. I don’t mind a boring and huge win like this. Defense really did nothing exotic and neither did the offense.
Lets keep it Vanilla and enjoy the fact we get 2 weeks for Don Brown to prepare a defensive game plan for the agriculture school.

Basically a shutout. Pretty pedestrian game
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:09 PM ^
Defensive shutout anyways
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:10 PM ^
So Locksley talked all that shit before the game about his awesome playcalling and his offense scored . . . zero points.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:19 PM ^
Talent matters.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:39 PM ^
If you lack the talent, maybe you shouldn’t be talking a big game...
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:51 PM ^
Durkin recruited plenty of talent for them not to be this inept on offense.
November 2nd, 2019 at 6:58 PM ^
Teams we have played that scored on us and are behind Maryland on the talent composite:
- Wisconsin
- Illinois
- Iowa
- MTSU
- Army
Maryland doesn't completely lack for talent. They've got injuries and it's a new system and all that, but, man. All that talk and no offensive points. Not a lot of good excuses for that one.
November 2nd, 2019 at 7:50 PM ^
Locksley is not a good head coach. That's been proven in the past and appears to be the case so far at Maryland. He may be a good O coordinator but even that is even up for debate because Alabama. But hey, at Alabama he did well selecting which of Gattis' plays to run.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
Talk - what you do when you have nothing else. We've had enough around here to understand the symptoms.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:34 PM ^
They do have some talent though. Both of those backs are pretty decent.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:11 PM ^
No letdown, good second half adjustments, big win.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:29 PM ^
Any big injuries? I caught parts of the game in between getting the house ready for my daughters party. Bought a gas leaf blower and went to town under our very large oak tree!
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
No big injuries going into the bye week. I got to the oak tree this morning luckily.
November 2nd, 2019 at 5:24 PM ^
That was my only concern going into a game like this. Just get a comfortable lead and get the main ones out. I'm sure everybody else playing Maryland and Rutgers are doing the same. Both of those teams should be a lot better with the recruiting bases around them.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:12 PM ^
I had this game on in the background, but I wasn't actually paying attention for more than like 8 plays. Kind of a nice feeling.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:12 PM ^
Obviously a game the coaches and players put NO importance on. Very lackadaisical and uninspired play. Defense was the definition of bend but don’t brake. The QB play is still woeful. They are glad that game is over, now on to STATE
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:15 PM ^
Defense was the definition of bend but don’t brake
Maryland had 233 yards of offense, including about 50 on that garbage-time possession.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
And still had the ball inside the redzone 3 times. Not sure why bend but dont break got negged.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:56 PM ^
Maryland had 11 possessions (not counting their one play to end the first half). Eight of those possessions resulted in punts. That's hardly "bend but don't break" defense.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Yeah, there were literally only two "bend don't break" possessions and then M crushed Maryland after the 8 min mark in the second quarter.

*STAEE
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
Unfortunately, some live a life as a troll or have never actually played the game. I’m assuming a little of both here.
Credit to Maryland, they came in excited and ready for a fight.

Or any competitive sport past like grade school. That element is rampant on message boards. Even great message boards like this. Zero allowance for the fact that the other team has quality athletes. That every team gives up first downs. And has difficulty on offense at times. True no matter the opponent.

Give me a...brake?
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:16 PM ^
No turnovers today. Good special teams. Defense pitches a shut out. Liked the way Tru Wilson played, he was a spark plug.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:16 PM ^
I'm with you. Hooray for boring road wins!
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
It’s called stress free football
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
Three tight ends = bad offense
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:21 PM ^
No complaints about the outcome, but after the last six quarters, I was really hoping to see even more flow and coherence on offense. It wasn’t really there.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:55 PM ^
Yeah, would've liked to see M come out and crush them but a little hangover on the road is understandable, I guess. Will probably need to play better against IU.
November 2nd, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
Well, we did score 14 points in the game's first five minutes (and 21 in the first 18 minutes). Did you feel like this game was in much danger at any point?
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:22 PM ^
BEAT STATE!
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:23 PM ^
Enjoying the win. Enjoying the solid performance overall. Enjoying that this year's team, whatever its flaws, is MUCH better than we had for years before Harbaugh arrived.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:24 PM ^
Saw dominance, execution, and no turnovers in this road win. Checks all the boxes for me.
Play the same way vs. Sparty and win the game.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:26 PM ^
We were favored by 21 and won by 31 in a natural letdown game, playing on the road after two straight huge games. I'll take it.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:34 PM ^
This is probably a much better perspective than I had during the game.
Difficult to so knowing how insanely good osu looks. Hoping they come out fired up against Mork and smack him around.

*Hockey. The greatest hockey game ever played.

I watched the YouTube video of this game just to enjoy it again. God it was great
November 2nd, 2019 at 7:54 PM ^
Red Wings glory years. Man, the Wings were really fucking good back then. I remember being disappointed when we lost a random regular season game. Winning was the standard. They set the bar so high. I hope Stevie can get the Wings back to the winning good ole days.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
In other football news... LOL Scott Frost.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:36 PM ^
Maybe Bo Pelini wasn’t so bad?
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:41 PM ^
I get a definite Rich Rodriguez vibe watching his teams.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
But did his guys outhit them???
November 2nd, 2019 at 7:59 PM ^
I never bought all the Nebraska B1G champs pre-season hype. They were awful last season. No way that team was going to do anything of note this season.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
Definition of totally fine. Not fine in a bad way. They had the opening KO return. Scored some TDs to keep the game well in hand before half. Defense settled down as it went along.
Just fine. And something good teams do.
November 2nd, 2019 at 3:41 PM ^
That really is a perspective we need to look at. The obvious evidence of growth on this team is here. The defense is figuring it out and hell Don Brown is running zone.
I am confident we are seeing a spring board for the program. Remember, Clemson wasn’t great, they had a springboard season. This feels like an actual springboard. The team is responding and Harbaugh is being Harbaugh again.
