2016 Top TE Isaac Nauta decommits from FSU

analysts. The gist of his report was that Nauta would end up at FSU or Michigan, with a real chance for either.
From Nauta himself:
"Georgia, from the beginning, and when I made my decision, they were in my top four, but really they were in the top two," Nauta said last week. "They have always been at the top for me. Really the proximity to home plays in their favor. One thing about Georgia and Florida State is that they both have great tight end coaches in Coach John Lilly and Coach Tim Brewster. I love to be around both of those guys. So Georgia has atmosphere, closeness to my family and a great tight end coach as advantages."
exactly endorse that report, but passed it along fwiw. In any case, Nauta has interest and is planning an OV.
This will only hurt Michigan in regards to getting Upshur. Want to know the chances of Michigan getting this TE? Nauta. I'll see myself out.
It's fantastic.
Any particular reason why?
He has connections to Michigan and Greg Mattison.
He also has connections to his home state of Georgia.
What connections?
Sounds like Nauta is heading to Georgia and Upshur just cancelled his planned August commit date and is taking an FSU visit according to Adam Friedman

Please don't tell me you are tweeting recruits again.
Then I'll just go ahead and assume that it will turn out horribly for Michigan.
This could be bad for Michigan. Georgia looks to be in good position for Nauta, and with FSU losing his commitment, they'll push even harder for Upshur.
Maybe he got turned off by Jimbo's no going to the bar (wink, wink) rules.
He found out Jimbo's wife wasn't going to be "team mom" anymore.
This kid has visited 1/2 the SEC and looks to be staying in the south. Are we recruiting him heavily under the radar or something?
He always said that he would take an official to Michigan even when he was committed to FSU.
I wonder if Jimbo Fisher isaac to his stomach over this, given how well Nauta played at the Opening.
I hate this so much, but I can't look away.
Your avatar expresses that sentiment very well.
Were we ever really in a position to get a commitment from him before he committed to FSU? It looks like he was planning on visiting UM this Fall, but recent events have seemed to indicate that getting a visit isn't as great of an inidcator as I previously thought.
Probably Georgia bound. Mark Richt will preach about how he'll get frost bite during summer 2-a-days up here.
Sam Webb worked with their southern recruiting guy (can't remember his name for the life of me) who predicted he was unlikely to end up at FSU. That guy said that we have a very real shot but are hardly the favorites.
On a related note, this kid's film is head and shoulders above Upshur's, although I do not feel Upshur is by any means a bad prospect. In a magical candy world you take Nauta over Upshur ten times out of ten.
Upshur's strength is his blocking. And TEs need to be great blockers in Harbaugh's system to create holes in the running game.
Sam Webb has been out of the loop for the last six months and is quickly losing value as an insider. Everyone else seems to be in agreement that Nuata is more or less done to Georgia and Upshur just canceled his announcement so he can go visit FSU again. This is all bad for Michigan.
/ssssss
/s = sarcasm for those who don't know...
Don't forget Crystal's Balls over at 247. She's infallible.
When does he commit to Alabama?
Now Upshur isnt going to announce on Aug 8th as was his plan.
Yay...
Fuck.
I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but yea... it sucks.
He's visiting FSU and ASU as well as Michigan before he decides.
to make sure Nauta doesn't take the available scholarship.
Hmm, well hopefully we can land Upshur. I think him and McKeon (who I believe will be an excellent player for us. Someone Harbaugh puts in the NFL) would be a great tandem in our tight end recruiting. If we land both of them and keep their commitments I would grade out are tight end recruiting as an A for 2016.
