UMAA vs. TNTROSU on BTN.  So many acronyms.

(the number twelve ranked .....)

Michigan has a good team; PSU on Sunday will be interesting.  U-M should win IMO; not sure when their last duel victory over PSU was.

Wrap them up and score!

Ride 'em for points!

Pin the suckeye on the mat-skey!

Seriously.  How do you cheer at a wrestling match?

Good win for the Wolverines!  The sport doesn't seem to have changed much in the 50+ years since I wrestled in high school.  Stand up and escape!  Wrap an arm around the opponents neck and then dive for a leg.  Repeat for 6 minutes.  The OT was new to me, and the difference in the match.

Quick rundown for everyone that is a die-hard MICHIGAN fan or fringe wrestling fan.

Caveat - Michigan is ranked #2 in the nation but without a full line-up that ranking doesn't really mean a whole lot.

125 - McHenry - Loss by Decision - McHenry is our 3rd string 125lber

(big time recruit coming out of HS but has not got big enough to compete on this level)

Future outlook - Ragusin or Medley will be the starter when Micic comes back

133 - Medley - Win by Decision - This is your Michigan man all the way - tough as nails and grinds

Future outlook  - Micic - Stud - National finalist and favorite to be in the finals if not win it

141 - Mattin - Loss by Decision - Had the lead for awhile but lost it late

Future outlook - Mattin is our best option and will be fine but not great for us here

149 - Storr - Loss by Decision - Storr is good but Sasso is a NC contender

Future outlook - Storr is an AA candidate

157 - Lewan - Won by decision - Always wrestles to the level of competitor

Future outlook - Lewan is an AA contender

165 - Amine - Loss by decision - Freshmen lose close matches at times. He will grow and learn

Future outlook - Just like his brother as an early stage this Amine has a chance to grow and get better as well

174 - Massa - Win by major - Dominated the entire match

Future outlook - Possible national finalist -AA candidate

184 - Embree - Loss by major - This one was UGLY - Never lived up to hype so far - injuries

Future outlook - Probably our only option at this point with Amine going up to 197 - not going to be                             good.

197 - Amine - Win by decision - Injured and just coming back

Future outlook - He will be fine and a possible finalist at 197lb or 184lbs

Hwt -  Parris - Win by Tech - Yes a Hwt tech fall!!

Future outlook - My goodness he is good and still might not win a national championship becuase there is a guy in Minnesota who may be the best Hwt. in the world.  Parris may be a top 5-10 Hwt worldwide.

Bah... this whole "organized strictures of wrestling, using weight classes and rules" and all that is boring...

Why not have the strongest wrestler from each school just thrown into single conference cage-match event... last man standing wins?

Barring that, we could get some other variations: Iowa's biggest cord-fed ugly against 3 jet-pack gnomes from Maryland?  Or Pat Fitzgerald vs Greg Schiano?  Or some school ADs fighting over a stack of cash?

Golden opportunities for BTN and conference revenue!

That was great to watch. Teams highly motivated, tight all the way, back and forth, great individual matches. About as good as it gets.

Didn't think Michigan would pull it off at the end. Came down to riding time for the win, Really tough match at the end. The announcers mentioned over and over how we hadn't beaten osu at home since 2007, which was really depressing so they at least reversed that. Also got it done without a couple starters. My son is a hs wrestler right now here in Ohio, his training partner had offers from thirty some schools. Came down to Cornell and Michigan, he ultimately picked Cornell. Bummer for us being huge Michigan fans cuz the kid is really freaking good. Great win tonight!! GO BLUE
