The winning coach gets a bath of mayonnaise. Is that a good thing?
December 30th, 2022 at 3:43 PM ^
This whole thing is totally ruining Mayo for me. I didn’t think that was possible.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:37 PM ^
Charlie Weiss wishes he was coaching in this bowl
December 30th, 2022 at 3:36 PM ^
The one for ALL the mayo. Terps!
December 30th, 2022 at 3:36 PM ^
Also Pitt v UCLA. Go Bruins, fuck Narduzzi.
December 30th, 2022 at 3:41 PM ^
i am back in the office today for the first time since mid-December, and it feels weird.
anyhoo, i got jack shit done and have just been sitting at my desk going through 800 unanswered emails and watching football all day.
looking forward to the Fig Things getting smacked today (hopefully).

NC State was not only ranked all year long, but they were even seen as a "quality win" for Clemson, when the argument for Clemson being ranked over Michigan. Yet, Maryland hasn't been ranked all season long, and wasn't viewed as a "quality win" for Michigan.
That's why perception shouldn't be the thing that determines who plays in the playoffs. Thank goodness for the 12 team playoffs that are coming.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:31 PM ^
If you expanded the playoffs to 12, clemson would be in the playoffs.
Now the overranked Clemson team is not in the playoffs.
Midseason ranks are just for ratings. The ones that matter are at the end, the system worked.
December 30th, 2022 at 5:57 PM ^
6 teams is the ideal amount of teams with a legitimate argument as a candidate, but 12 teams means more advertising dollars, so now half the ranked teams are in, and its the football version of the Tourney.
December 30th, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
Yeah. If you are going to obliterate the traditional bowl season, you might as well include more teams in the post-season.
December 30th, 2022 at 3:46 PM ^
I don't usually root for the SEC. But against, Notre Dame??? Hellz yes
December 30th, 2022 at 4:11 PM ^
Especially since South Carolina is not "real SEC".
December 30th, 2022 at 3:46 PM ^
That trophy is far too nice for a game sponsored by mayonnaise.
December 30th, 2022 at 3:56 PM ^
The trophy is a replica. Graham Mertz dropped the trophy a couple of years ago and it shattered.
December 30th, 2022 at 3:52 PM ^
Good on Maryland. Beat a ranked team to finish strong. I’d like to see the SOR/SOS rebranded after the B10 wins and B12 bowl losses to date.
December 30th, 2022 at 3:53 PM ^
After all the hype, they make you switch to the app to watch the mayo dump? What a scam.
December 30th, 2022 at 3:54 PM ^
Locksley looking not like a guy who won a bowl game, but like a guy getting ready for a particularly mean-spirited hazing ritual.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:12 PM ^
Which it is.
December 30th, 2022 at 3:57 PM ^
I couldn't find the mayo dump on the app but I'm sure they will show a replay.
December 30th, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
SEC > ND
We've played the Gamecocks in a couple of Outback Bowls I've been too. Their fans are OK.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:01 PM ^
I dare someone to start a thread on the (put on your earmuffs kids) BARSTOOL SPORTS Arizona Bowl with a link to their stream.
Oh, all the harm that would cause the world.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:08 PM ^
This is an open thread. You are allowed to post about it here.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:06 PM ^
Anyone see the barstool sports Twitter video of Sarkisian getting in the face of what appears to be one of the tv crew that let them know when they can run onto the field? Guy puts his hands up on the chest of Sarkisian because the players are all amped up and the guy is trying to hold them back until it’s time to go and Sarkisian goes off on him and tells him don’t put your hands on me mother fucker.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:11 PM ^
Locksley breaks out the big hat for the mayo dump. Boo that man.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:17 PM ^
ETA: Just saw an extended clip, his glorious dome did get mayoed after he took off the big hat part way through.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:16 PM ^
when does sparty play their bowl game this year?
December 30th, 2022 at 4:18 PM ^
^^^^ Never gets old
December 30th, 2022 at 5:12 PM ^
They already played their bowl game back in October. They lost badly then assaulted a couple players of the winning team.
#tuck sweating/chopping/swearing....
December 30th, 2022 at 4:18 PM ^
Gary Danielson apparently just discovered DTR. His point of reference is Jayden Daniels, who was able to be productive in the one true conference.
December 30th, 2022 at 7:01 PM ^
DTR’s career has to be considered a bit of a disappointment, no?
5th year senior, former top 50 recruit, year in and year out the team never lived up to any of the early season hype.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:21 PM ^
Touchdown S.Car on a fake FG! Beautiful call.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:25 PM ^
Then a pick six!! Freeman is so good. 8-5 on the horizon?? Amazing
December 30th, 2022 at 4:24 PM ^
Not that USC pick six. To hell with ND.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:25 PM ^
USC (NTUSC) up 21-7 on a pick 6
December 30th, 2022 at 4:34 PM ^
Fuck Notre Dame.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:37 PM ^
Gotta love during the Notre Dame game when they were interviewing two of the top ND players who decided to sit out. The one was talking about injuries to ND this year. Almost as if he was making an excuse for their lack luster season. Doesn’t matter but I just LOL when I saw it!!
December 30th, 2022 at 4:38 PM ^
Looking forward to Chip Kelly jumping into a big bowl of Frosted Flakes.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:45 PM ^
Impressive composure after the refs gifted Pitt that TD. Yeesh.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:53 PM ^
LMAO at the no-PI call on the very next drive. Guess they’re even now.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:42 PM ^
Oh good God. Are there two teams playing right now? It's been Notre Dame conversation the everyone game.
Pyne didn't "get them into the top 25". They started the year at #5.
I'm sad we haven't had the chance to pound them into the dirt these past two years
December 30th, 2022 at 5:10 PM ^
TRVB,
We’ll have to maintain that “win in the rain” against the Irish for several more years.
December 30th, 2022 at 5:52 PM ^
Was on the field for that one. I have a picture of one of my sons on the Notre Dame exercise bike. We were dressed for Alaska fishing so the rain didn’t bother us one bit. It was indeed a glorious win.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:43 PM ^
Another Notre Dame side show.
Freeman did an incredible job????? Wtf
December 30th, 2022 at 4:44 PM ^
If any of us are feeling over confident leading up to the TCU game (lord knows I am), the Gator Bowl is giving a preview of how a team like TCU could put Michigan in a bind. Special teams trick play TD, followed immediately by fluke pick six, and all of a sudden ND is in some trouble.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:47 PM ^
We saw that against Penn State. Three positive plays kept it close at the half.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:50 PM ^
Yes, except that Rattler is a very capable QB who beat Clemson, and although this is a rare instance in which I wouldn't mind seeing the SEC lose and (yeeps) ND win, SC may well win, even handily.
December 30th, 2022 at 6:43 PM ^
So, I’m just saying that what could have/should have been a ND blowout is a close game on the scoreboard because of the fluky college stuff that really does happen all the time. I could see this exact script playing out tomorrow, giving us all a heart attack around 5:30 pm and then resolving in whatever way it does, as opposed to a comfortable win in which Michigan slowly grows an insurmountable lead.
December 31st, 2022 at 9:06 PM ^
aaaaaaand we fucking lost. This was the only way it could have happened. Fuck everything.
December 30th, 2022 at 4:52 PM ^
Who do we root for in the Orange Bowl (Tennessee vs Clemson)? I'm rooting for the asteroid, personally.
