11 Warriors Report: OSU WR Torrance Gibson Suspended For 2016 Season
No reason on why suspended. Gibson was touted dual threat QB in High School. Troubled with hamstring injuries throughout Spring camp.

That it was not a football or AD decision, but from the university. Hopefully the kid can straighten things out and get healthy for their beatdown in 2017.
August 29th, 2016 at 12:07 PM ^
Does that mean that OSU reorganized the org chart and put football coach below university president after Gee and Tressel left?
August 29th, 2016 at 12:11 PM ^
Although there is a stipulation that if the player has no real impact on the team's ability to win that they can act as that season's "fall guy". That way, nobody can say that OSU doesn't discipline it's players.

Where does Harbaugh currently rank in the power infrastructure?

and the Greco-Roman dieties are both still trying to claim him.
He's up there in the hierarchy with Jesus and Poseidon, but still answers to Yahweh and Zeus

According to R/CFB he was reported for harassment by a female tutor.

Source tells me Torrance Gibson was suspended from Ohio State because a former tutor claimed she was harassed. Buckeyes appealed and lost.

Gibson is now suspended for the entire year & loses a year of eligibility. Buckeyes are adamant he did nothing wrong. They fought it hard.

Glad to see football tried to over throw the Admin code of conduct rules, and lost...
either they are B.S. about trying hard or school finally figured out letting sports coaches determine discpline on sports players was idiotic...
August 29th, 2016 at 2:30 PM ^
Although if Gibson's account is true, and she let him take the video on SnapChat, but only objected and pressed for harassment after he refused to date her. That is probably why the coaches went to bat for Gibson. Although in a situation like that Gibson would have to have almost irrefutable evidence to prove his innocence.
August 29th, 2016 at 2:39 PM ^
Sadly, proving innocence is exactly where the college "judicial system" is these days. And sometimes, that isn't even enough.
August 29th, 2016 at 3:57 PM ^
about college football players just figure out that taking any videos of their sexual conquests is a bad idea and will end very badly.
August 29th, 2016 at 6:06 PM ^
"If Gibson's account is true"
That's a good one.
August 29th, 2016 at 4:29 PM ^
kudos to OSU for standing up to the football program. Whatever you think of the underlying facts and decision, it is significant that the administration didn't buckle under pressure. This is a real sign of our changing times.
August 29th, 2016 at 7:14 PM ^
That they screwed a kid by assuming guilt instead of innocence? Yea, changing times indeed
August 30th, 2016 at 12:05 AM ^
Recognize that you're making conclusive assumptions with very little knowledge of the situation.
August 30th, 2016 at 12:47 AM ^
Leaking this type of shit to smear the girl is the exact reason the zero tolerance preponderance of evidence rules exist.
August 29th, 2016 at 12:03 PM ^
Somebody from the osu fanbase said it was for grades.
August 29th, 2016 at 12:19 PM ^
they ain't come here to play school
August 29th, 2016 at 12:44 PM ^
No, it is fair. He should have known not to get good grades and show everyone else up...
August 29th, 2016 at 12:54 PM ^
Nice... +1
August 29th, 2016 at 12:28 PM ^
supposedly for taking a booty shot of a girl and posting it, thats the rumour anyway.
August 29th, 2016 at 1:22 PM ^
We're really going to have to avoid glass houses if that's the case.
August 29th, 2016 at 1:38 PM ^
That guy might have been kicked off the team at Michigan.
August 29th, 2016 at 12:32 PM ^
I have no sympathy for these athletes (specifically basketball and football - the two major sports) when it comes to grades. These people have tutors available all of the time. The coaches make sure of that. They want their players to be eligible, so they arrange any assistane necessary, whether that be legal or illegal assistance.
August 29th, 2016 at 12:52 PM ^
as Adolphus said.....
August 29th, 2016 at 2:18 PM ^
I love that quote
August 29th, 2016 at 1:12 PM ^
This type of problem usually ends up at the local community college, yes?
August 29th, 2016 at 1:23 PM ^
They would claim grades. But i hear he was sexually harassing his female tutor.
edit: some photo he posted of her or something.
August 29th, 2016 at 1:28 PM ^
There's a moderator on the Rivals board that is claiming that the female tutor was consensusally "hooking up" with Gibson, and a picture of her behind was taken during it. The moderator is saying that the female tutor in question on pressed for harrassment AFTER Gibson refused to make her his girlfriend.
August 29th, 2016 at 1:36 PM ^
Lol guys should know by now. Chicks in college gotta sign contracts prior to any form of sexual conduct.
The "preponderance of evidence" clause is going to screw Gibson over while the female tutor gets off scott free with some cold revenge.
August 29th, 2016 at 1:46 PM ^
IF these rumors are true, and it is a "he said, she said" situation then the university has been put in a difficult position.
If Gibson is claiming that she gave him consent to post the pictures, and only reported him after the fact because he refused to be her boyfriend... She is probably claiming that Gibson took them and posted them without her consent.
If neither one has sufficient evidence to support their claim, then who does the univeristy believe? The safest move would probably be to support the "victim's" claim and punish Gibson because then no one could accuse Ohio State of trying to protect a student-athlete (i.e. Baylor).
August 29th, 2016 at 3:49 PM ^
So, you have multiple fact issues: Was consent actually given? And if so, what was the scope of the consent? Even if she gave consent to being photographed (which she may have argued was not the case), that does not at all mean she consented to Gibson posting the photograph. In addition, the circumstances under which he posted it (revenge porn?) may make a difference as well. Bottom line is that no one can assess whether the "school" (quotes b/c of the institution we are talking about) did was appropriate or not without knowing more about what has been alleged and what facts support the allegation.

I wonder if this will turn into a legal case. It will be interesting to see if there are any similarities to the ltt case.
August 29th, 2016 at 7:01 PM ^
Sounds like the Gibson version. I'm sure the girls version will be very different. The guy had every motive to twist the story to avoid missing a full year or maybe more.
August 29th, 2016 at 1:36 PM ^
She refused to write his term papers and take on-line (OSU football player only) tests for him?
August 29th, 2016 at 1:48 PM ^
Looks like OSU hires some stupid female tutors that haven't gone through the jock infatuation phase of their lives yet:
Word is that his tutor turned him in after he posted a snapchat of their hookup. It was consensual but she went to the university when he decided not to date her.
I had access to the same tutoring as the football players during my time at OSU. One of our tutors was a recently engaged graduate student who would occasionally invite us over to her house just so we weren't couped up in the dorms. She started an affair with Jordan Whiting and told his girlfriend after her fiancé caught them in the act, leading to the confrontation that ultimately got Whiting suspended.

Sounds like standard 11W apologism to me.
Nothing like potential victim shaming via internet inuendo

Word of advice for college football players....

To be fair, if it occured as stated in that imgur, it is not nearly as bad as LTT.
August 29th, 2016 at 12:28 PM ^
But along the same lines. And what was posted is the OSU football side of the story, and I don't think semester long suspensions are given out lightly there.
August 29th, 2016 at 6:29 PM ^
Lack of consent was the problem. Consent given here should equal a non issue.
EDIT - didn't realize it was posted publicly.
August 29th, 2016 at 1:23 PM ^
Even if she allowed him to take the picture, nothing in the imgur suggests she authorized him to post it. If this falls under a statute prohibiting "revenge porn" he could be facing serious criminal charges.
August 29th, 2016 at 1:37 PM ^
and the Columbus police will be right on that.
August 29th, 2016 at 1:45 PM ^
How's it not as bad? LTT didn't post it anywhere in public.
August 29th, 2016 at 2:53 PM ^
LTT didn't receive consent from the girl. Apparently Gibson did which is what I believe people are getting at here.
August 29th, 2016 at 4:30 PM ^
A tOSU Rivals mod is implying consent.
Sure, sounds completely unbiased and credible.
