Glad to see football tried to over throw the Admin code of conduct rules, and lost...

either they are B.S. about trying hard or school finally figured out letting sports coaches determine discpline on sports players was idiotic...

Although if Gibson's account is true, and she let him take the video on SnapChat, but only objected and pressed for harassment after he refused to date her. That is probably why the coaches went to bat for Gibson. Although in a situation like that Gibson would have to have almost irrefutable evidence to prove his innocence.

kudos to OSU for standing up to the football program.  Whatever you think of the underlying facts and decision, it is significant that the administration didn't buckle under pressure.  This is a real sign of our changing times.

I have no sympathy for these athletes (specifically basketball and football - the two major sports) when it comes to grades. These people have tutors available all of the time. The coaches make sure of that. They want their players to be eligible, so they arrange any assistane necessary, whether that be legal or illegal assistance.

There's a moderator on the Rivals board that is claiming that the female tutor was consensusally "hooking up" with Gibson, and a picture of her behind was taken during it. The moderator is saying that the female tutor in question on pressed for harrassment AFTER Gibson refused to make her his girlfriend.

Lol guys should know by now. Chicks in college gotta sign contracts prior to any form of sexual conduct.

The "preponderance of evidence" clause is going to screw Gibson over while the female tutor gets off scott free with some cold revenge.

IF these rumors are true, and it is a "he said, she said" situation then the university has been put in a difficult position.

If Gibson is claiming that she gave him consent to post the pictures, and only reported him after the fact because he refused to be her boyfriend... She is probably claiming that Gibson took them and posted them without her consent.

If neither one has sufficient evidence to support their claim, then who does the univeristy believe? The safest move would probably be to support the "victim's" claim and punish Gibson because then no one could accuse Ohio State of trying to protect a student-athlete (i.e. Baylor).

So, you have multiple fact issues: Was consent actually given? And if so, what was the scope of the consent? Even if she gave consent to being photographed (which she may have argued was not the case), that does not at all mean she consented to Gibson posting the photograph. In addition, the circumstances under which he posted it (revenge porn?) may make a difference as well. Bottom line is that no one can assess whether the "school" (quotes b/c of the institution we are talking about) did was appropriate or not without knowing more about what has been alleged and what facts support the allegation.

Looks like OSU hires some stupid female tutors that haven't gone through the jock infatuation phase of their lives yet:

Word is that his tutor turned him in after he posted a snapchat of their hookup. It was consensual but she went to the university when he decided not to date her.

I had access to the same tutoring as the football players during my time at OSU. One of our tutors was a recently engaged graduate student who would occasionally invite us over to her house just so we weren't couped up in the dorms. She started an affair with Jordan Whiting and told his girlfriend after her fiancé caught them in the act, leading to the confrontation that ultimately got Whiting suspended.
